Clemson OT Jake Fruhmorgen (former 4*) to Transfer--Michigan Potential Destination

Submitted by Caesar on

He was 119 on the 247 composite in 2015. Article (link) mentions Michigan as a possible destination. He was on Michigan's radar and took an unofficial visit (link).

Transfers sit a year, but Michigan could probably still use him.

I agree. Either he is a great guy or he is the biggest bullshitter of them all. Judging that I always say I'm an expert on character and any asshole can make this call easily but he's a pretty good man. Just so glad they beat Bama and OSU. I haven't had a second favorite team since FSU back in the Peter Warrick and Warrick Dunn days but Clemson is my new one. Go Blue and Go...Orange?

here are a couple of Swinney quotes. Form your own opinion.

Swinney was asked about the idea of actually paying players, given the dramatically transformed economic landscape of the game, and he said that if players are ever paid, “I’ll go do something else because there’s enough entitlement in this world as there is.”

When asked about players’ protesting during the anthem, “It’s so easy to say we have a race problem, but we got a sin problem.” He also stated that his players would be in trouble on his team for exercising this kind of dissent.

It's not the same as talking about hating someone on a personal level. I reserve that for Joe Paterno. Posters were seemingly putting Dabo on a pedestal relative to other coaches.

How much else do you really know about him? We've certainly heard enough about dirty recruiting. The vast majority of head coaches have public personas that are at least somewhat likeable. That comes with the job when you're the face of your program, (and to some extent the school) and you're constantly selling yourself to recruits.

The frist quote says something about his character to me. It's one thing to collect millions for coaching unpaid players and to think they are getting enough. But it's hard to defend calling them entitled for wanting more. Then saying he would just go do something else if they got paid. I really wonder what he has in mind.

Taken together, I think those quotes show a lack of empathy for others. Feel free to disagree.

Must be some significant issues to not want to go back to the National Champions / them not wanting him back after being a starter.

TigerNet has learned that Clemson offensive tackle Jake Fruhmorgen will transfer.

Fruhmorgen met with the Clemson coaches Thursday and told them of his decision.

...

Swinney went into the playoffs saying he was hopeful Fruhmorgen would be with the team next spring.

There's no word yet on where Fruhmorgen will wind up, but early possibilities seem to be Florida or Michigan.
