That’s the look of oh shit, “that post dated check” at the payday loan place wasn’t such a great idea now for tickets to Lucas oil. To make it even sweeter, I saw that the Buckeyes returned 7k rose bowl tickets. You can literally go to the rose bowl for the cost of a case of the official beer of the Ohio state Buckeyes. PBR!

Candy, lots of candy.

Last Saturday, back home in Kansas with our daughter and grandsons, we made carmel, turtles, chocolate covered cherries, peanut brittle, peanut butter balls and then we throw peanuts, pretzels, miniature marshmallows and whatever else into the remaining melted chocolate and make "clusters". Tuesday we arrived in Harrisonburg, Virginia and today we did the same thing with our young nieces.

Last evening my brother in law and I went to the UVA vs Clemson MBB game...a poorly played game that Clemson ended up winning by 17.Tony Elliot, new football coach, made an appearance-seemed nice...well-spoken. he did not offer any insight into the likelihood of Mr. Oluwatimi landing in Ann Arbor.

Thanks! Yes, I'm old enough to remember the Rocky and Bullwinkle show.  Underdog was my favorite as a child in the late 60s. Yes, the band use to play the Rocky and Bullwinkle theme in the early 80s when I went to school at M. The new generation at M would probably not know that theme.

In 2003, my dad (who was an OSU fan) was talking a lot of trash for The Game. After M won, I made him some special score cookies like this, but I used number cookie cutters and squished them together for a 3521 cookie. He was a good sport and ate them.

Unfortunately, you might’ve heard that M went on a dry spell after that. Every year during the holidays, he’d ask where the number cookies were. Every year, I was making snowmen and bells instead.

Then Denard went wild and M beat Fickell. I said nothing. I sent my parents home with a plate of cookies that holiday season with a 4034 cookie hidden just under the top layer of snowmen and such.

No call the next day. No call the day after that.

So I call to ask about the cookies. They’ve been enjoying them. Did they notice anything unusual? No.
The night my parents brought them home, my mom went into the kitchen, left the lights off, grabbed some cookies, and hammered them. She never looked at them and ate the score cookie. What kind of animal eats something without looking at it first?

Nice.  I made my share of "maize" frosted with blue sprinkles this year.  Eventually my kids forced me to pick a different color icing. :)

Okay, so if I had any baking talent whatsoever, I'd make one of those peanut butter cookies with the Hershey's kiss in the middle to resemble our iconic photo of the sad buckeye clown in foreground of the scoreboard.

And to think I've been wasting my time making lemon-spice cake for service folks, when I COULD have been making beautiful cookies like these. ESPECIALLY one of them there these.

WL, those look good.

I just finished a batch of chocolate chip (would have been Christmas Dark Chocolate  M&Ms, but they don’t make make them anymore); a batch of molasses cookies, and I’m finishing up a batch of snickerdoodles.  Last two for the holiday spices.  Chocolate chips need no reason!!!

All three were my mom’s old recipes; we can’t find her sugar cookies one. ?
