Candid Harbaugh interview with our old friend Kawakami

Submitted by Raskolnikov on

1/2 hour really great interview with JH & Timmy K. Harbaugh is being quite open and honest about his departure from SF and the job at Michigan.

A couple points of interest:

- Said he felt that he didn't leave the 49ers, that management left him

- Said people would look at him and then look away, and otherwise act a little off in his last days in SF

- Didn't look at any other jobs (Raiders, etc.), made Michigan choice from his heart

- Feels a ton of nostalgia at Michigan, it hasn't changed so much that it feels new to him

- Is enjoying twitter

- Has Netflix

etc.

I've got two locations within about 20 minutes of me actually - one in Belleville and one in Monroe. Strangely, my wife actually prefers to go for lunch as she's a fan of the Reuben sandwich that they serve. The advantage to eating there really is that one meal makes eating for the next day and a half or so not necessary.

So he pretty much straight admits that Tomsula undermined him for the job during his tenure...

York/Baalke/Tomsula lol this is going to be a fun circus to watch next season.

After hearing that interview, and hearing that not only did 49ers management treat Harbaugh wrong, but that Tomsula did too--I hope the 49ers tank and don't win a single game next season. Maybe that will make them appreciate what they had.

I guess we should thank them, since Jim's at Michigan now.

To be fair to San Diego, this was 1,000,000,000,000 times less excusable.

Schottenheimer coached 5 years with LT in his prime and had both Brees and Rivers as his QBs and still only made the playoffs twice, losing both games. There wasn't much of a case for keeping him.

Cool.  Great point.  Way to stick it to Harbaugh.  He says he likes Cracker Barrel and the Midwest and some dork points out that the headquarters is actually in TN and it's not technically a midwestern restaurant although there are in fact hundreds of locations in the midwest.
