That's pretty much how I expected it to go. I don't think Albom is going to be a fan of the m go blog dot com anytime soon.

I would have thought that Albom would have known a bit about Brian and MGoBlog before having him on instead of asking questions like what is your day job and how do you make a living off of a blog. Maybe it was an informational setup but either way kinda strange IMHO

Mitch hasn't heard of your blog? Funny, after Brian's interview was a commercial for U of M Hospital's colonoscopy program. Is this a case of Mitch biting the hand that feeds his show?

Mitch is just following Freep policy, which requires all Freep employees to feign ignorance as to Brian's existence.

That the Free Press story was the old fashioned method of double checking, triple checking a question before posting and that Brian is a Google master. He's also constantly interrupting the caller and not letting him get his points across so as to further his own agenda. What a tool. I hope he's not one of the 5 people I meet in heaven. Edit: Whoever the other guy is is an asshole and putting words in the callers mouth, sayin he is calling 18 year olds stupid. This is probably the worst talk show I've ever heard.

I couldn't listen anymore after Mitch asked the attorney how many football players Brian interviewed. Why would Brian have to interview any? But, I will give Mitch credit; he acknowledged that he was a Freep "homer" (which pretty much caused the remaining airplay to be coated with a brown viscous substance). Yeah, that 'Google Master' comment was very witty Mitch, very droll. Hahahahahahahahahaha not.

Could you imagine how Morrie felt having to spend every Tuesday with this blowhard. He probably couldn't wait to die.

This is the same Albom, mind you, who remains adamant that Chris Webber could have never taken cash from Ed Martin, because Albom "never saw it" (and because it would have contradicted half of what he wrote in the Fab Five book). What a joke.

Does it dwell in the INTERWEBS? Does it use the GOOGLE? Do you get your money through the TUBES? Other highlights of the post-Brian phase of the show: (1) Shouting down MGoBlog contributor Charles to (falsely) accuse him of accusing freshman football players of being too stupid to be allowed to speak. Reality check: Freep article says the players they interviewed (even those no longer with the program) "agreed to talk only if they were not identified because they said they feared repercussions from the coaching staff." But, of course, there's no problem quoting CURRENT freshmen Hawthorne and Stokes BY NAME in the article, without giving them any opportunity to remain anonymous (or even telling them the purpose of their interviews). And then the authors surmise that these players "apparently [are] unaware of the rules," even though their comments do not suggest that they were asked any questions that would implicate the crucial mandatory/voluntary distinction drawn by the rules. So, who exactly is belittling these players and calling them stupid? (2) Later caller notes that Rodriguez cried and expressed concern for his players at his press conference, but supposedly never denied that rules were broken. Mitch helpfully chimes in, "I noticed that too!" Reality check: Moments into press conference, Rodriguez says: "[Barwis] has always complied with the rules, as has our entire staff. We know the rules and we comply by the rules. We have a very transparent program . . . ." Q: With everything you said there, there was no implicit [explicit?] denial of everything that went on. [Uh, were you listening?] Rodriguez: "We completely complied by the rules, the hours and all that, always have and always will. Again, you must understand, again, it was misleading. Sometimes the players, when you ask them about hours, and understand the treatments, the medical treatments do not count, study hall does not count, other aspects of the hours do not count toward your hours allowance." Q: Can you explain your Sunday practices . . . . Rodriguez: "I'll just say it as politely as I can - we want to talk about Western. As I said, we completely complied by the rules in all aspects." Yeah, sounds really vague and equivocal. Can you please just answer the question, did you comply with the rules?!?! I could go on and on, but as Brian has noted, it's easy to just make s*** up and tiring to continue to have to knock it down. Keep up the good fight, everyone!
