Good for him.

I immediatly thought of the office episode where Michael promises the kids their tuition, and breaks it to then that he can't when they were about to graduate. ha

"I can't pay for your college.  But you don't need to go to college to get an education.  Online classes are a viable option.  And to take those classes you'll need a laptop computer, which would be rendered useless without...batteries. I have one for each of you."

I would have set it at 3.0, but that's just me. If students work hard in high school (with the carrot of free tuition dangled in front of them), and the best they can do is 2.5, they're likely to struggle in college.  It would be interesting to see the details as to the level of support included in this gift.  For example, what happens if the student fails and has to re-take several courses?  Will the tuition costs still be covered?  How about the student that has to take a semester of remedial courses before they qualify for college level courses (a very real possibility with students at or just above a 2.5 high school gpa)?  Will tuition for those classes be covered, too?

The kids where Cleveland inner city kids so whatever costs if any not covered by Braylon could easily be covered by grants. Besides the point  why you gotta over analyze the good jesture lol. 100 kids who might not have had a shot at college at all got free tuition paid for by a Wolverine. It's like winning a free car but wondering how will they pay for the gas or insurance :D.

I would hope that the program has atleast some designs to direct kids along worthwhile paths. A kid who gets a 2.5 in the highschool enviornment of learning would be wasting their time in a university setting (which is essentially the same style of learning amplified). But getting them into a trade school enviornment through this program would probably be the greatest thing that could happen for their future.

I was hoping that this was going to be about how Braylon had 100 illegitimate kids and now has to send them all to college. Still, good move on his part.

He has made it onto my shit list in recent years, so this helps him in my eyes (not that he cares, but anyway).....classy move by Braylon and one that should be lauded. College is not cheap and $1MM is truly putting your money where your mouth is!

Hopefully Braylon can mature - that is his true achilles heal, maturity. This "second most hated man in Cleveland" thing is really dumb.

Grow up man, you just proved that you have what it takes to be a star, on and off the field - let your actions do the talking, not your mouth!

Am I crazy, or, given the tuition at most universities, wouldn't it take a lot more than $1m to send 100 kids to college? That's $10k per kid, which is $2,500/school year, $1,250 a semester. I don't know of a college that cheap, even for in-state kids.
