Brandon Peters to Illinois
Best of luck to the kid.
Best of luck to him, that’s a home run get for Illinois.
To our rival? Shit. Best of luck, kid.
Good luck to him. I was at the game against Rutgers when he came in and the response from the crowd was electric and full of optimism for him to live out his potential. Too bad things didn’t really play out that way, but happy for him to have a solid chance somewhere else.
I think if he had a good offensive line that season things may have turned out different for him at UM. I remember him taking some massive shots that year including getting knocked out cold. He never was competitive in the QB battle after that.
Amazing.
Haven't we said that with (fill in Qb name) since the mid 2000's?
Ugh... Thanks for the sad reminder on recent history. Dick.
(/s about the dick part...)
Best of luck to him. Had high hopes for him when he came in. Hope he finds success with the Illini.
Peters was a 4-star across the board. Not arguing your point, just clarifying that.
He was 34th on 24/7, two spots below the lowest five star.
...which makes him a 4-star.
Peters wasn't rated a 5 star by Rivals, 247, ESPN, or the composite.
If you thought Peters was a 5 star then you must not be paying much attention
What do ya mean? All UofM transfers are 5*s.
According to Sparty fans , our rosters for years is full of just about all 5 stars
So the difference between a 4 and 5 star is several orders of magnitude eh? roflmao
Fuck! Illinois is our main rival. How could we (or the big ten) let that happen?!?!
On a more serious note. We play Illinois mid October. Interesting that we’ll be playing against a QB (Peters) that knows a good deal about playbook. Not that I think it’ll matter, since Gattis is more or less revamping it. But interesting nonetheless.
My guess the amount of knowledge he has on Michigan is trivial compared to the amount of knowledge our coaches have on him.
Serious note. Interesting nonetheless.
Amazing.
We should be ok. I thought the reason he struggled was because he couldn’t understand the playbook.
He also seemed to lack some of the more intangible things, leadership qualities and mental toughness. But then maybe that's from getting hit in the face every fuckin play.
And too slow, both on the move and with his delivery (considering he needed to be quicker with shoddy line play).
Still, he wouldn’t fit well in the current offense.
Good luck, young man!
So will they improve & win 3 conference games?
i think they could get 3 or 4 BIG wins and could play some others tougher than they have in the past. i caught a couple of their games last year and honestly i thought at times they played better much better than their record. BP will have some talent behind him in Corbin and Epstein to take some pressure off him. Hoping the best for him (except for on 10/12/19)
Fuck. Sad sign for M that hes going to one of our big rivals. At least he didn't go to Rutger
You are being naive - this is actually a brilliant strategy devised between Peters and Harbaugh to get someone on the inside for our upcoming game against them. Who needs 3D chess when you can play 5D Guess Who?!
Looks like we will see him in October.
Should be interesting......
wish it weren't so. son of a close friend is on the cusp of being the illini's starting QB, and peters has enough talent to put a hitch in that giddyup.
EDIT: swapped texts with my buddy. Says this was figured out a month ago and kept quiet.
Good luck to him. Iron sharpens Iron. May the best man win.
Best of luck to them both. If I'm being honest, with Illinois Line and Peters history, both have a decent chance at starting. Hopefully no serious injuries though.
Isaiah Williams?
Fuckin' Warde. First no buyout for Beilein and now allowing a transfer to a conference power house.
FIRE BAKICH RAWRRR !!!
Good luck to him. Illinois fans are getting cocky now and it's really funny
Hope he locks down the starting job and has a lot of success.
Please block for the kid. Good luck Brandon.
LOL. Poor kid is going to go there and end up like David Carr.
Over/under odds he starts against Michigan this year?
I’m putting it at 30%. I’d be happy for him if I’m wrong, but I have great concerns about his football psyche.
I'll be rooting for him when he's not playing Michigan!
Good for him. I wish him luck in every game except against UM.
Stay healthy and shine as a UofM graduate!
Has there ever been a Michigan player who's career has been subject to as much fan fiction as Peters? There was just an incredible amount of fan projection and speculation about the guy with very little rooted in observable facts.
Good luck to him except for that one day. Illinois has a terrible defense so he should have ample opportunity to put up numbers.
Shane Morris?
That's a good one. Highly ranked QB recruits on the bench have to be the leading category.
I was a board lurker when Morris appeared viable so missed a lot of that outside of vehemently disagreeing in person with people who said he should play over DG.
I know someone who coached against Morris in HS and he said he wasn't all that impressed with Morris. He was shocked that he got high recruiting ranking given the fact that he sucked against his team.
