I be like dang.
I B 2.
Dah-yum.
GOAT
Lame Goat still better than all the rest.
And I thought I was tough powering through a paper cut.
He was working through something. He had an owie.
How is that possible? Wouldn’t he be far too unstable, not to mention pain and unable to heal because it hasn’t been fixed?
Yeah. Guessing there is some legend building going on here. To play at that level on a fully torn MCL seems impossible to me (I’ve had a full mcl tear, and while walking and stretching are fine, any sustained stress was a nonstarter). I believe he was injured, but don’t buy the full tear.
Yeah the ligament stabilizes the joint, like an internal brace. If it’s not there, it’s not a pain issue for an elite athlete so much as the leg will now bend in ways it shouldn’t. I don’t see how you can move around in a pocket with a ragdoll knee.
What about with a brace that only lets it bend in one (or certain) direction(s)?
Using a brace as a replacement for a ligament is a bad idea, especially in a contact sport. See Dennis Dixon's ACL or RG3's LCL and ACL.
Who said anything about "moving around in the pocket"? This is Tom Brady that we're talking about, after all.
I ain’t saying he’s Denard but even John Navarre after a date with Medusa wouldn’t stay absolutely still in the pocket. But to move at all you need functioning knees.
Guessing it was a partial that could wait until the post-season because I cannot believe any human has played anything at a high level with a full MCL tear. I am willing to be wrong.
Tiger won a major championship with a stress fracture and a torn ACL. Obviously vastly different sports but there's a lot of pressure put on the knee in golf
So he would have had a better season if fully healthy?
I bet he just rubbed some dirt on it and played on.
That's just what GOATs do.
He added some spit to the dirt and made a poultice.
He added some spit to the dirt and made a poultice.
A double spit-dirt poultice.
I mean he's a statue in the pocket, but I find this hard to believe. But you could post actual Brady fanfic on here and most of you would lap it up.
Or, perhaps Brady fantru.
Well, that’s cool. But it’s the least cruciate of the ligaments. Like, only medial cruciate.
Sounds like his was remedial though.
It's ligamentary, my dear Watson.
Well now we know who was behind the mask
Top 25 best movie ever.
One of the worst movie endings ever.
How could Monty Python not end a movie better???
I feel this way about Blazing Saddles as well
I feel this way about the 2016 season as well
too soon
"Merely a flesh wound."
-- T. BRADY
I think the proper verbiage is:
"'Tis but a scratch" followed by "'tis only a flesh wound".
not a doctor and never had an MCL tear...
i mean, its seems like this was highly risky wasn't it? was there the potential for a more damage, or is it one of those injuries where risk of more injuries wasn't a big deal and it was more a matter of playing though pain?
Sounds crazy regardless...Goat.
But, you did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, right?
Didn't a redwings Dman play for years with a torn ligament in his leg? Rafalski (sp?) maybe?
John Elway supposedly played his whole career with no ACL.
I once fought for 4 days without sleep, water or food with an arrow through my testicles.
Nope. Try again. We still love Tom.
You too?
Atta boy. Suck it up, spit on it, rub up some dirt and get on with it.
You're advising him to suck up his own testicles?
I've been walking around for 40 years with just 1 1\2 ligaments in my right knee. Now, I did have surgery that was state of the art at the time that involved moving a tendon to help support the knee. I can't run or jump, but I would think with 3 ligaments and a good brace someone could manage for awhile. I think the danger would be the possibility of stressing and damaging the remaining ligaments.
Will ALWAYS be the greatest. Fuck the haters. Second? Sir Charles. Name another player.....ever....that could run all DB plays and kill it, run WR, Slot, RB (on sweeps). Nil. We have the two greatest players to ever play the game.
I don’t know if that’s actually true or not (seems medically impossible even for a guy who’s the definition of a statue in the pocket), but what can’t be debated is that if he won it all without a real training camp, no preseason or real offseason, a brand new offense and new teammates for the first time in two decades, imagine what he can do now. With a year in the system, a year to gel with his team, a full offseason, preseason, and with the best overall crop of pass catchers in the league.
I’m not saying it’s guaranteed he’ll repeat again next year. It’s damn hard to do, and odds are probably against it But Brady was, after all, the last guy to treat.
He has just as much of a chance to win next year as anyone else.
It depends as much on Kansas City reestablishing their offensive line or Aaron Rodgers returning to Green Bay and then Green Bay running the correct play on 3rd down. Much went right for Tampa Bay last year.
So you are right. Brady and Tampa Bay are a legitimate threat to repeat.
It's the avocado Ice Cream.
Didn't he wear a glove on his throwing hand one season because his pinky was going to fall off?

Good lord... Full tear, partial tear, knee stress... Whatever the full truth actually is, what he did last year in getting Tampa to a SB win was astounding. And yet still, there are people who say Peyton was better. I don't get it, man. I don't get it...
I'm a Colts fan from Indy, and I have a ton of love for Peyton. He was a coach on the field. First ballot HOF. But Brady bested him almost every time, and the one time we got over the Patriots, was due toa Marlin Jackson interception of Brady. Brady is the Goat bar none.
Really? Better than Pat Mahomes, who has already won 1 Super Bowl?
