Wake me up after Christmas.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:26 AM ^
As someone a long time ago would say.... don't beest a distemperate daw
December 16th, 2017 at 8:28 AM ^
What time does State play today?
December 16th, 2017 at 8:48 AM ^
Upvote this.

Comment I've read this season, just for pure laugh-ability
December 16th, 2017 at 11:08 AM ^
I asked my sparty wife this very question. The best part is I'm only doing it because it truly irritates her and makes me laugh.
December 16th, 2017 at 12:40 PM ^
Nice move, guess that is one sure fire way to guarantee no weekend coitus for you.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:27 AM ^
Kickoff is at 3:09.
December 16th, 2017 at 12:45 PM ^
Can't wait until they get blown out. I pretty much have the rest of the B1G winning.
December 16th, 2017 at 8:39 AM ^
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
December 16th, 2017 at 10:22 AM ^
Good games to watch, not necessarily good football quality. As long as the teams are evenly matched and the result is in doubt, then it's worth watching. Blowouts are boring.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:34 AM ^
The season only lasts so lo. But let's not pretend that any of the games today (save maybe Boise-Oregon) is going to be anything approaching good football. 6-6 WKU vs 6-5 Ga State being a prime example
December 16th, 2017 at 8:55 AM ^
I think Michigan needs two football teams. One fall team and one spring team. Two seasons of football. You could have different rules for spring teams with gameplay and recruiting, to compare results and innovate with the game.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:06 AM ^
so you need to take your ideas around the conference or something
December 16th, 2017 at 8:59 AM ^
thought shit started on New Years day?
December 16th, 2017 at 9:02 AM ^
Sorry, I was more excited for Michigan vs Florida to open the year than I am North Texas vs Troy.
Same for Michigan vs Notre Dame to open next season. There's about 8 bowl games between ranked teams that are notable.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to watch the shit out of these games. They just don't carry the same weight for me.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:08 AM ^
Most of these bowl games are pretty pathetic.
That being said, I can be pretty pathetic this time of year :P
And what a bonus...We get the Lions/Bears @4:30 today.
Bad football lovers unite.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:10 AM ^
Is still my personal gold standard for sports (and not the damn play-in games), but Bowl Season is pretty damn awesome. Sprinkle in some M hoops today and we have ourselves a good day of sports ahead of us. I guess you can throw in the Lions if you’re a sicko like me who still holds a glimmer of hope that they’ll do something special eventually.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:15 AM ^
Im with you, Lamp. Nothing beats that first Thursday/Friday of March Madness.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:29 AM ^
Yes, the David and Goliath upsets, the buzzer beaters . . . while the whole country is watching, often at work.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:02 AM ^
My personal favorite is the Sat/Sun of that opening weekend. The field is whittled down to 32, and everyone is scrapping to get into the Sweet 16. The lesser bubble teams are usually gone by this time, and what remains produces some great basketball.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:31 AM ^
Being a college professor (not at Michigan.. yet :)) i have a lot of down time from now until the 2nd week of January, so I eagerly await bowl season. I might not watch a lot, other than the good guys, but it's nice that I know it's there. I just started the new Brandon Sanderson book and let me tell you, it's a thick one, so that will keep me busy. I'll also be building a large model train set to put around the Christmas Tree. Lots of eggnog in my future haha.
December 16th, 2017 at 10:44 AM ^
Done grading already? Good for your. My grades are due Monday, so this weekend will not be much fun. Still have plenty to do over break, but I can do it on my own time. And it is certainly more interesting then grading, which can crush the soul.
December 16th, 2017 at 10:51 AM ^
Why yes I am, graded for about 72 hours straight after my last class Tuesday (very little shuteye involved). Oathbringer has been calling my name for about a month, so I had to get the grading out of the way. Grading can crush the soul my friend, so good luck to you.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:15 AM ^
I need to submit grades by Sunday at midnight. I've got about 50 8-10 page papers plus 20 5 pagers to grade between now and then. I'm temporarily blowing that off by posting this on MGoBlog. As the kids say, FML. But only till Monday! Then...4 weeks off.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:39 AM ^
Meh. Glad some others can enjoy it. If they were all playoff games I would be interested but normally the good bowl games are from a few days after Christmas on. My level of excitement for college football usually goes something like this:
1. Michigan vs MSU/OSU
2. Michigan vs. ND/PSU/Wisconsin
3. Michigan vs. good national OOC teams
4. Michigan bowl game
5. Rest of the Michigan schedule
6. College Football Playoff (without M in it obviously or it would be #1)
7. Other good national matchups (ex. Iron Bowl, Rivalry weekend, opening weekend, etc)
8. Other good bowl game matchups (NY6 outside of Playoff and Michigan)
December 16th, 2017 at 10:46 AM ^
And I'd place the Michigan spring game above some of these ho-hum crappy bowls.
December 16th, 2017 at 9:50 AM ^
I'm interested to see the Boise State vs. Oregon game today. Otherwise, the games are pretty lame.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:02 AM ^
OP might want to actually tell us who is playing, so we can decide for ourselves.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:06 AM ^
http://www.ncaa.com/scoreboard/football/fbs
I go there for schedule and scores ... I find it's a far more user-friendly interface than ESPN.com.
1:00 ET -- Troy vs North Texas
2:30 ET -- Western Kentucky vs. Georgia State
3:30 ET -- Boise State vs. Oregon
4:30 ET -- Marshall vs. Colorado State
8:00 ET -- Middle Tennessee vs. Arkansas State
December 16th, 2017 at 12:51 PM ^
someone posts the TV viewing schedule. Wa la. Miss the helmets but thanks for the schedule and plus one for making my afternoon easier to plan.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:25 AM ^
Boise State - Oregon used to be a New Year's Day level bowl match up.
Now, not so much.
But, it's getting late and the bar is closing . . . it's as good as we're gonna get today.
December 16th, 2017 at 10:46 AM ^
Eh, bowl games don’t usually get me interested until a week or so into the season.
December 16th, 2017 at 10:56 AM ^
After Christmas (I have a little down time then ).
December 16th, 2017 at 11:15 AM ^
People actually watch all these crappy bowls? If it isn't Michigan, I have better options.
December 16th, 2017 at 11:40 AM ^
As if 3 playoff games have made all bowls irrelevant. Damn it I go to turn on first take or something with Skip Bayless and instead I get a bowl game. Ugh. The fact that they are on and im not watching upsets me. Do you all know the chances someone might play the Percy Harvin role in one of these games? That at least is worth something right?
December 16th, 2017 at 11:52 AM ^
Go Blue Raiders!!!
December 16th, 2017 at 11:56 AM ^
Can't wait to see us destroy south carolina. Should be fun.
GO BLUE!!
December 16th, 2017 at 12:07 PM ^
Will be fantastic. Very well could turn into the shootout the Alamo Bowl between Oregon and TCU was a few years ago.
December 16th, 2017 at 12:12 PM ^
lil'brother play today?
Zing!
December 16th, 2017 at 2:05 PM ^
I don't know that a channel is going to pick that one up.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:22 PM ^
41 bowl games? Are you shitting me? Before long we will be getting the Bitcoin Alaska Bowl, featuring two 4-8 teams.
December 16th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
I'd watch an Alaska-based bowl as long as it's played outside, preferably in an open field with the potential for wildlife interference by moose and/or grizzlies.
December 16th, 2017 at 3:51 PM ^
No more Boise magic. An average-ish Ducks team pulls this out...by 10.
But I do like the Cozart-Rypien duo. It could be entertaining.
December 16th, 2017 at 7:32 PM ^
Like I was saying, there’s still a little Boise magic left. Broncos by 10.
December 16th, 2017 at 3:59 PM ^
So wait, how was that not grounding by Oregon? Even if you argue he was out of the pocket there was no one remotely in the area. Doesn’t that have to be out of play to just throw away?
December 16th, 2017 at 4:49 PM ^
Lol, may have been mentioned above but hilarious that it's Davis and Herbstreit calling the Las Vegas Bowl. I'd imagine T
This is not a game many are watching and it's ostensibly ESPN's "A" crew.
December 16th, 2017 at 10:27 PM ^
They weren't turning down the trip to Vegas.
December 16th, 2017 at 10:10 PM ^
Yay Bowlmania!
