The biggest mismatch in the game is not Bateman vs. Gray

The biggest mismatch in this game is now Paye vs. true freshmen RT aireontae Ersery. This is a 2nd round NFL pick going against a kid who was not only just in high school, but not rated high anyway.  He was rated the #966 recruit overall, #79 OT.  This should be a HUGE, HUGE mismatch that Paye (or Hutchinson) need to absolutely dominate and hit Morgan early and often.  .

Blitz pickups might also be an issue on that side of the line.   I'm sure they'll give him plenty of help, though.

Maybe the Gopher passing game resorts to dink and dunk to mitigate pass pro issues.

I've been feeling like Michigan is going to blow out Minnesota since I saw them on the schedule.

This team could also be anything so who knows, but thank you for giving me a reason to double down.

Unless Paye really drops the ball this year, he's going to be a 1st rounder. He's a combine maniac and could potentially run a sub 4.6 40 and sub 6.35 cone drill at the combine. Hope he's worked a bit on his speed rush and getting around the edge

I think the key to this game is going to be our ability to run the ball. If we can keep the clock running, moving the ball down the field in the bad weather, and keeping the ball out of Minnesota's offense's hand we should be able to win this game

Kwity could have a hell of a season and still go in the 2nd or 3rd.

This is a minor expectations quibble. I think he'll have a great year and go high, but I've also seen the first rounder expectations blow up a thousand times for different guys over the years for all kinds of reasons other than the player dropping the ball.

Minnesota's system makes his job easy for him in pass pro though. They dink and dunk and never really give the rush a chance to get there. I'll take Paye and Hutch caving the line so our LBs can cover all the slants and crossing routes.

This is beneficial Michigan mismatch actually could offset the mismatch in Minnesota's favor, just got to take advantage, DEs gotta go off on them

Licensed to kill gophers, by the government of United Michigan Nations. Paye, free to kill gophers at will. As a killer you most know your enemy and in this instance my enemy, is a varmint. And a varmint, will never quit. Ever. They're like the Viet Cong. Varmint Cong.

So what you gotta do? You gotta fall back on superior blitzing and superior aggression. And that's all she wrote.

There's no reason Paye and Hutch can't pressure Morgan and make him uncomfortable. We should get pressure with 4. If not Morgan will chew us up.

If they must start a true freshman at tackle I expect more running plays and quick routes for Morgan to get the ball out quickly.  The dreaded crossing routes that don't take long to develop.

Is there a risk that Minn says "we can't field a team" and begs to postpone?  How many guys are they down in total?  Cases or simply exposed and in isolation?

In the Auburn game dude was allowed to line up like 2 yards deep and got totally destroyed by Auburn’s DEs.   Shit not happening vs Paye.
