Dumb. Classics are so much better. Need some damn color on the field, between our blue and Washingtons dark purple and the black endzones. Yea maize would’ve looked awesome

Who picks the color?

I think that the QB should be the one that picks, based on the contrast he wants to see with the opposing team's unis.  That's the reason that our helmets were first painted with maize stripes, so that the QB could see his receivers down the field better.

I'm not going to complain about what we're wearing in the national title game (you know, because we're in the national title game) but I would absolutely have preferred the classic look.

Love it.

And If I’m not mistaken, beating Washington in 21 to kickoff this amazing ride we’ve been riding was the start of the big game blues. So now it can come full circle.

Dislike but I guess at this point these are our standard unis for big games. I was surprised we went maize pants at the Rose Bowl. I wonder if it was sort of like wearing white at Wimbledon. You have to wear the classics.

Means Washington will be singing The Blues!

Proven fact very few people know but our players are a fraction faster when wearing Big Game Blues.

From a purely visual standpoint I really, really dislike the all blues, but it’s hard to ignore our record while wearing them.

The BGBs are great under the lights.  The iconic helmet design becomes more of a focus with the blue pants.  The names and numbers absolutely pop without the need for shading or outline frippery.  It's an incredibly clean look, and in my opinion more menacing than the classics.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I'd love to see a version of the uni in the "pitch blue" shade that the basketball team sometimes wears... Obviously we don't need any MBB juju infecting the football program, but I do think those unis are really sharp -- dark, but still blue. It's a unique twist on the popular blackout concept that kids seem to like.

For that matter, I think the Big Game Blue threads look great in the flat November light that makes them appear darker. In the glare of a dome, as we saw against Purdue at Lucas Oil a year ago, the uniform looks lighter and just not as cool and imposing, in my opinion.

Regardless, I think the Big Game Blue choice for this match-up tomorrow is the correct one. It seems to get the players going, and their record in the look speaks for itself. And of course, as has been pointed out, with our last victory over Washington, when the current run of success began, this was the uniform choice. It's a fitting full-circle gesture.
