Big 10 Team You Can't Stand

Iowa, Indiana and Northwestern. If I had to choose three teams to lose to, it'd be those three right there. Wisconsin fans are assholes, and probably the worst of the non state crowds.

Man that's a tough one. I could say almost all the teams, but if I had to pick one other than Ohio State it would be Purdue, because I live in Indiana and I take IU's side in anything between the 2 schools. Purdue's colors suck, stadium sucks, Bball stadium sucks, parties and bars suck, and the women there are not as nearly as hot as Indiana women!!

I hate their fans. It's an important distinction that you lose sight of when you say "besides the obvious". I respect Jim Tressel as a character and especially as a coach and I don't have any particular issue with any of their players other than the occassional David Boston type or, of course, Justin Boren. If I had to pick a Big Ten team/program I hate it would have to be Illinois, especially the Mike White squads of the early 80s. They were dirty cheaters and when Michigan had the ups they dropped 72 on them.

hands down, not even a contest for me. Red Grange was 80 freaking years ago people. Grandkids of people who died and never saw the game still remind me of what Red did against Michigan as if it was the greatest thing ever to not happen in their lives. On top of that their fans are stuck up Chicago suburb pricks and were just rude to me and my friend who joined another to visit his girlfriend at IU. They have little history in football and think UM is a big rivalry game. ....and there's 4 different ways they say Illinois.....Ellinoise, Ellinoy, Illinoise and Illinoy

Penn State. They win one game and their fans all of the sudden forget about the previous 9.

the incessant whining about officiating, especially the 2 seconds in 2005, makes PSU the team in the Big Ten I most enjoy beating (after the obvious). Then, in order: Minny (the jug) Wisconsin (Ike whats-his-name) Iowa (just because) Northwestern (smug ankle-biters) Illinois (1983, grrrr) Purdue (Dierking in '76) Indiana ('87 still stings)

Illinois Remember their "Bo doesn't know diddly" comments? We soundly spanked them that game. Their new coach didn't help in 2006 either.

Probably Wisconsin. I just never really cared for Wisconsin much and then they started doing that stupid "Jump Around" thing and ESPN announcers managed to gush "one of the great traditions of college football" and - pleh. One of the really, really stupid traditions of college football. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything dumber. Other than that nobody really bothers me too much.

Ohio state: their fans are obnoxious douche bags and their players are thugs. I hate everything about ohio state! Michigan state: they win one game in 7 years and they thought they were the dominant team in the state the entire off season. I laughed as they lost to cmu, and all they could come up in return was "Yeah but, at least we didn't lose to appalachain state" And i said back "But we did beat msu in east lansing the same year we lost to app state, so msu must suck worse than app state! Then they kinda shut up. But this past week as they fell to 1-2 to notre dame, they finally shut the fuck up.

Michigan. I hope they all lose every game. Yes, I know, a mathematical impossibility, barring double forfeits. I do not root for them in Bowl Games. I do not root for them in the NCAA tourneys. Screw them all. Go Blue!

Up here in Grand Rapids, little brother dads walk around in their spartan golf shirts touting their basketball Izzo-isms, meanwhile their football team is a perpetual mid-level disappointment. They would rather 'hit the links' during the Michigan/little brother game and (gloat if they win/hide if they lose) than invest the time actually seeing the game. Just because MSU is the only game your orange-faced, swollen headed alcoholic daughter can get into doesn't make you a fan. To us, it's just another game.

Probably really depends on where you are from. Being from Illinois, the non-fighting Illini fans of the politically correct tribe formerly know as the Illini and their respectful non-stereotyped mascot of Illiniwek just piss me off. You're a joke Illinois and you only get attention because you have one big circular rotation between alums, students, and young fans between the suburbs and Chambana.

for me to get up much "can't stand" for those who aren't obvious as these require, take, and obviously deserve a lot of my venom and spite. Just plain tired after all that, but put a gun to my head and I'd guess I'd have to say Wisky for Beliema's horses' ass-ness (somewhat mitigated by my general liking of B. Alvarez). The fighting JoePas probably right behind them because of the fan base (though the couple Penn St. fans I know well are okay customers).

I hate their attitude, their annoying cheers, their basketball team, and their drum. I rather dislike Illinois too.

I have to say about Penn State - anecdotally, in the four years I went to UVA, their fans were better travelers than any I saw in those four years except possibly South Carolina. No ACC team we played invaded our stadium quite like Penn State did. They overflowed the visitors section, and so there was a huge collection of them in the corner of the grass next to the student section. Couldn't tell if they were being obnoxious because I wasn't close enough, but they sure were loud. The happy ending to the story is that all of us in the student section turned and waved them bye-bye as they did the slow, mournful, single file walk of shame up the hill, having just seen their bowl hopes ruined with their sixth loss in an eleven-game season. So you see, we're very friendly hosts.

Of the nonobvious ones, Northwestern. Y'all ain't smart.

I have little things I dislike about a lot of them. Sconnie, because Bret Bielema (Side note: did Bielema and Mike McCarthy make some kind of secret Wisconsin football coaches pact about not wearing anything on the sidelines that isn't a windbreaker zipped as high as it will go? Because McCarthy wore one at Lambeau last week when it was in the 80s). Also because I grew up there, and because I'm not really a fan of some of their fans, even if most of the people I know from HS went there. Purdue, because of the stupid train whistle they play. Penn State, because of the stupid Nittany lion roar they play.
