No, it doesnt have to. It's not an either or situation. There isnt some finite amount of happy that in order to be given to winners it must be taken from the losers.
You can choose to be unhappy after a loss. And you can choose for how long. But its a choice and you don't have to let a loss by the University of Michigan ruin your afternoon or day.

The best thing about LSU’s win is the schadenfreude for Online State. But OSU are probably just fine with the outcome and will gladly claim 3/5 of the title since Burrow spent most of his time logging into class in Columbus while spending only 40% of his time logging into whatever alleged academic institution is in Baton Rouge.
