The Best of MGoBlog - A Love-Fest

Submitted by profitgoblue on

In the spirit of negating the inherent negativity of the "Worst MGoBlog Trend" post, I'm interested in reading what people think are the best MGoBlog trends, tendencies, posters, and memes.  These are a few of my favorite things:

1.  Anything Lloyd Brady (mentions, photoshops, etc.)

2.  Posbang and Negbang Threads

3.  Spelling/Grammar Nazis (the criticism can only help the poster)

4.  His Dudeness (only love is going to heal him)

5.  Negging Brian and TomVH (keeps them grounded)

6.  Double-posts

7.  "Posted from iPhone" titles

All lloyd brady references for starters. I highly enjoy when the someone replies to another and it keeps snowballing and this mini discussion has little to nothing to do with the original thread discussion. Also the witty sense of humor that people use.

I love that you can ask the most obscure question in the world and as long as it involves Michigan sports on some level somebody here will know the right answer.

And then somebody else will be 100% convinced the first answer is wrong and the debate is on.

The overall quality of the content here is much, much higher than any other college football site.  I love EDSBS for humor and probably get a bigger laugh out of the content there than here, but the statistical work here added to the Michigan-only content makes this place one of the best sites on the intertubes.

If you ever start losing appreciation for this place, spend a day or two on Rivals' open college football board.

I enjoy the intelligent banter.  You rarely find intelligent and witty conversations on the interwebs these days.

I also enjoy the pictures and gifs.  Even though they may or may not add anything to the conversation, they are great for a cheap laugh and I am always up for cheap laughs:

Negging to Bolivia. I think this is the best new meme. This may be at the stage of running its' course around here. I remember the first post where the guy jokingly replaced Oblivion with Bolivian. Before it took off I remember laughing with the word play. And then it just exploded.

The Subsequent posts trying to free FuManBlue were just epic. Finally, any hints where people ask how Bolivia is or to prepare for a trip there.

I think it's even funnier when someone who is getting negged then posts ten or twelve replies/rants/opportunities to everyone who criticizes him and then wonders why his point total is going down so fast.

Most people here, myself included, get really serious about Michigan sports; it's great to have comic relief sometimes.

Too many things I love about MGoBlog.  Here are some I didn't see.

1.  Any time someone books it, or Rabacks it, or BKFinest it.

2.  The anonymous source that gets people riled up.

3.  Spontaneous tangents.

4.  Non-revenue sports updates.

5.  The occasional life lesson that accidently surfaces.

In my short time here, I suppose my favorite thing would be the rare folks who aren't satisfied with Bolivia and want to be negged all the way to Tierra Del Fuego. Not nearly as catchy, but definitely down there.

because I notice that the font of the letters in the end zone looks different than it used to, and then finding a hundred people on this blog who not only noticed too, but can tell you what the font is, what it was, when and why it was changed, and what's going to happen to the basketball court.
