I remember when people here were championing JOK when Speight wasn’t doing well, then championing Brandon Peters when JOK was JOK. And then Brandon Peters was a space cadet so people were throwing roses in the streets when Shea transferred in.

Amazing.

I’ll take it a step further; one finger, one toe. Junior year WS was a solid game manager that made mostly the correct decisions. Had he taken an appropriate step forward to senior year and never gotten assaulted in the Purdue game, that season would have been vastly different.

And we wanted Dreisbach or Brady before Griese won a MNC...then we wanted Henson over Brady until Brady won his second Superbowl...then we wanted anyone over Navarre until he beat the Bucks in 03...then we swore Matt G would have been better than Henne and Mallett would too but one was injured and the other sucked and was such a dbag everyone at Schembechler Hall hated him...until the following season when we all wished he hadn't transferred

What a Joke. I've defended Shea a lot, but after Wisconsin I lost all hope in him. Unfortunately DCaff got hurt, otherwise I think he would've taken over as starter. Now they're forced to roll with Shea because Milton is just not quite there... or is he? That's what everyone said about Peters in 2017 and when he finally did start he was clearly better than O'Korn, so who knows.

We’re not seeing Shea’s ceiling right now. His first three years were better than this. Look at the staff and players and tell me what’s different from last year. There’s your answer to what’s wrong.

I am not going to be revisionist and say I didn’t like the off-season move. I am just going to say that I was wrong, like everybody else.

QBR this year is 130.  Last year at this stage he was 160 (like best in UM history). Shea is the same QB but the scheme is different and too dogmatic.  Gattis needs to adapt or this season is going to crash and burn.  Not because Shea is a bad QB.  Great coaches adapt their scheme to fit it's personnel.  The problem is coaching not players.

(Speaker walks up to the podium and taps the microphone), "ahem, is this thing on?"

"20th place goes to.... (Opens envelope) Shea Patterson from The University of Michigan!".

I'm in the minority, but I'm all in for supporting our quarterback and encouraging him.  We all can improve so I am hoping the staff and he will work some miraculous turnaround this week and next.

Go Shea and Go Blue!

I’m not super certain this puts you in the minority. I think when it comes down to kick off time, we all end up getting behind whomever walks onto the field. I’m sure there’s a faction of us who are being melodramatic to a degree, but certainly all of us would be excited and in support of Shea if he came out looking calm and competent. Point is, I think we all support the program and the team, we just enjoy the discussion and, if you are like me, you are inherently forced to discuss any morsel of football between Saturday evening and Saturday morning just to make it through the week.
