i just signed my son's national letter of intent and i have to say, i'm pretty darn happy about that. happy for the son and happy for my wallet. was thinking of a post that includes the NLI and a more detailed discussion of what the conditions are, what it obligates the parties to do, etc., if people might be interested.

you guys are funny, and hatesparty, despite your name you'd be welcome. it is a great temptation, for instance, to post this son's hudl video here. i don't know that i've ever seen a player at his age diagnose plays and sift through traffic to make the tackle better than him - and that includes when the play is the far side of the field from him. he is the definition of rising senior with his growth in height and stature. of course as a proud dad i'd love to have all you football fans see it.
the problem is that there is a very tiny fraction of a percentage of mgobloggers that are bat-scat crazy, poison mean, and as gracious as a three alarm fire....since they can hide behind a keyboard. that became very evident when politics broke out here last spring and is why i don't visit much any more but to check headlines on a day like today. little doubt they'd be much different in person, but i doubt i will get the pleasure of meeting them.
let's see if i can talk to one of the mgobloggers who i know personally and send them the letter so they can post it, as i don't have the tech skills to do that, in conjunction with a post. if so, i'll write a post (a diary?) about it.

I did three diaries on this general topic in the last year. I think the first one was in March, the second one in July, and the third one was a couple of months ago when this son committed. That should cover most of the general questions you might have. I hope you find them worth reading.
