I would say the overall point is we are not the 14th ranked team in the nation.

Yes, this is a win and survive year, but there are now major questions in all 3 phases of the offense (run, pass, and play calling), which is not usual with the 14th ranked team.

But, as always, I’ll take the win and Go Blue! (For the record, I would have us top 25, but not top 20)

Name the last time a 14th ranked team that is 4-0 and is a 4 point dog to a 2-2 team on the road. I’ll wait.

This isn’t me not being excited for 4-0 and winning a game we looked awful in for the whole second half. This is everyone saying relax and we will believe we are a good team once we do something that is note worthy.

That 2-2 team lost to the #4 and #9 teams, and is playing at home.

In their loss against #4 Penn State, they outgained the Penn State significantly, but a -3 turnover margin doomed them. They still only lost by six points.

Similarly, in their loss against #9 Notre Dame, they outgained Notre Dame significantly, but a -4 turnover margin doomed them again. Wisconsin actually led 13-10 in the fourth quarter, the game was much closer than the final score.

Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Texas, Florida, USC, UCLA, Texas A&M, these are all good teams who have lost this year.  There are NO perfect teams this year (even Alabama).  There are very few teams who can't really complain about how the season has gone (Penn State, Alabama, Oregon, NC State would be some).  There are not 15 great teams, but we are 4-0, never trailed, mostly dominated and still have zero turnovers on offense, which is absurd.

We are not perfect.  No team is.  Wisconsin is tough but beatable.  We've literally had 1 bad half of football against a good team where our faults were mostly self-inflicted (Cade being subpar after being hit, freshmen LB's being freshmen, Gattis turtling like a mofo).  All of that can and likely will be better next week.  People need to chill.

So you are confident we beat all of the following teams: Clemson, UCLA, T A&M, Mich St, Auburn, Baylor, Wisconsin, LSU?

We are gonna find out about 2 of those teams that are behind us in the next few weeks. I really think there are about 20 teams that are average enough to be at that 15 spot, and we are just one of those teams.

Man, I hope everyone is this confident after another close win that we under preform in.

I don't know I would say that either of them "stink". Both teams however have underperformed significantly against their ranking. A&M bumbled their way to a hideous 7-3 win over Colorado.. who is not good, and just got stomped by Arkansas yesterday (Arkansas is an impressive team, btw). Auburn is a tough team full of athletes, but they are very limited in what they can do offensively. To me they look like a poorer coached version of Michigan.

I agree the second half of the Rutgers game leaves a bad taste, but when you look at the totality of the season, Michigan has earned a higher ranking at this point of the season than both of those teams.

Show me 20 teams with better talent and a better resume than us at this point. I’ll wait.

For fuck’s sake people, we had a shitty half of football and that performance may or may not be indicative of what we’ll see the rest of the year. It doesn’t exactly bode well, but football is weird and what you get one week doesn’t necessarily mean you can expect the same in the future. but a good chunk of you need to get a fucking grip; my 7 year old has more mental toughness and deals with adversity better than a lot of ‘adults’ who post here

Give me Georgia - Cincy - K State - Bama - Michigan

Would love to see Arkansas and Ole Miss win and then drop about 3 games each. Cincy looks good this year and Notre Dame is weak. Oklahoma has the talent to beat K State, but K State usually plays well in these kinds of games and ends up winning.

I think it's odd that Maryland isn't ranked near the bottom of the top 25 (21-20 range).  They beat WVU, same as Oklahoma did last night when they escaped on a last second field goal.  Maryland, on the other hand, beat WVU by six and had a significant yardage advantage.  Oklahoma didn't really control their WVU game the way Maryland did.

Beyond that, Maryland's second best win is Illinois while Oklahoma's is Nebraska.  Both were close, embarrassing victories.   We know definitively that Illinois is better than Nebraska; that's been decided on the field.  So, again, I don't see how Maryland isn't worthy of a top 25 ranking while Oklahoma is in the top 10.

Further, there aren’t any dominant cohorts who should be too 15. OU is going to stay in but looks bad. MSU took down that Miami then shit the bed versus Nebraska’s mom. Does Texas AM look good? NC state?

i think it would be of interest to consider that the product of college football is in decline. Don’t know why. Economic change? Change in parental outlook toward head injuries. The coaching staff not having control as bear Bryant did at his stops in coaching? Fans losing interest? Commercials too long? Only asking questions but would love to hear opinions. All of football feels squishy.
