Any way to get a video stream of Obama's speech online?
So I made non-refundable plane reservations out of Detroit tomorrow well before President Obama was announced as the commencement speaker, and will not be able to see him speak this weekend. I know the speech will be airing on the Big Ten Network, but in case I am not able to get that channel back home, does anyone know of a place on the web where I would be able to watch the speech live (or even at a later time)?
and bring your video recorder.
(It's not in Detroit)
Cameras, camcorders allowed, no cases.
it will be broadcast live at umich.edu and bigtennetwork.com

Next person to violate the law against politics (which is: no politics) gets a cookie.
No, wait, that's not right. Gets banned.

one cute bunny. There are bad things pets do sometimes that they can get away with 'cause they're so damn cute.

Looks tasty!
And so do the cookies.
Huh? What does the commencement speech have to do with politics? The only connection I see is that a politician is speaking, but that's a tenuous connection at best, and there have been far more egregious violations of the "no politics" rule that the original post here (if, in fact, that's what you're referring to).

Agreed. What if the original post had said "Any way to get a video stream of the commencement speaker's speech online?" Would that have still been political? If not, the mere mention of the POTUS' name is enough to warrant banning? That seems a bit draconian.
The only name whose mention alone should warrant a banning is Drew Sharp. (Please don't ban me!)

I'm pretty sure I saw a very political post last night that has since been baleeted. Or maybe it was in one of the other Obama threads, but I can't find it.
a bancookie? That sounds like tasty, tasty justice.
got the banhammer?

How exactly is this political? The dude just wants to watch the speech. It sounds like you're saying that mere mention of the name "Obama" is political speech. A pretty unfair characterization, if you ask me.
I for one hope Obama rails on the Buckeyes tomorrow. That would be epic.

"Obama" is political speech... He's the President. Anyway, you can sit here and argue that this post isn't politics, but you cannot argue that there will not be a single protestor in Ann Arbor. With the President, like it or not, there's politics. It comes with the territory.
Does anyone know how long the whole thing will last? I'm wondering if its possible that I can make my 1pm reservation..
I have heard it is supposed to be 11:00am-12:30pm, but with the Pres and everything I would imagine there could be "some" unexpected waits at many junctures
Anybody know if graduates in cap and gown are able to wear ponchos in the event of rain?
Just bring one, you're definitely allowed to do that, and if they make you take it off to walk in the stadium it's no big deal, just put it back on once you're at your seat. They're not going to kick you out then. Though I would guess that if it's raining you'll be allowed to wear it with no problem.

I gotta imagine that it'll be on CNN too or something.
