I love Michigan stadium and that will never change, but there are some pros/cons of the setup.

First of all, the fact that the field is so far from the stands is good for people sitting in the lower rows having a better view of the game, but it creates a less intense on-field environment. Compare to Kinnick where the front row is literally at field level right next to the players on the sideline. Kinnick's setup also makes it easier to rush the field whereas at Michigan you have people jumping ten feet off a brick wall. Fans being closer supposedly also influences ref bias.

Columbus is also close to the field. Although I truthfully despise the architecture there. It's just terrible. And if you're in the upper deck the angle of incline for the stands is insane.

Penn State's setup with the big upper deck in the North endzone creates a really lound and intimidating on-field environment. I actually think it would be amazing if Michigan added upper decks to the enzones (there was vague talk about it 7-8 years ago but nothing came of it). It would do a lot to make the environment more intimidating.

I'm surprised Alabama was at something less than 100%.  Even if only 0.1% ... still, I would have thought they'd be 100%+ given their fan base.

Dear God, hope you get the letter and I pray you can make it better down here I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer But all the people that you made in your image See them starving on their feet 'Cause they don't get enough to eat from God I can't believe in you Dear God, sorry to disturb you but I feel that I should be heard loud and clear We all need a big reduction in amount of tears And all the people that you made in your image See them fighting in the street 'Cause they can't make opinions meet about God I can't believe in you Did you make disease and the diamond blue? Did you make mankind after we made you? And the Devil too! Dear God don't know if you noticed but Your name is on a lot of quotes in this book And us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look And all the people that you made in your image Still believing that junk is true Well I know it ain't, and so do you Dear God I can't believe in I don't believe I won't believe in heaven or hell No saints, no sinners, no devil as well No pearly gates, no thorny crown You're always letting us humans down The wars you bring, the babes you drown Those lost at sea and never found And it's the same the whole world 'round The hurt I see helps to compound The Father, Son and Holy Ghost Is just somebody's unholy hoax And if you're up there you'll perceive That my heart's here upon my sleeve If there's one thing I don't believe in It's you

That TAM will be increasing their stadium capacity to 130,000 but given how poorly their team is playing they may be lucky to get it half full. Michigan could probably add an upper deck, may be another 50,000 and fill it.

It's fashionable to bash the Michigan fanbase, but Michigan fans are loyal, knowledgeable, and passionate.

100,000+ still showed up to watch O'Korn play Rutgers.

Almost every other school would kill for a fanbase like Michigan's.

You want crappy fans?  Look at places like UCLA and FSU.  They are notorious bandwagon fans, yet they still demand the coach get fired for not winning championships.
