Afternoon Game Thread
Well the noon games turned out to be dogs - congrats to Miss State and whatever that team is called down south. The "best" game was Florida v Tenn...10-9. Boo.
I'll be peaking in on NC State to see if they can stay within 10 of Clemson on the road - could be a sleeper coaching candidate there. Oklahoma could be on upset alert. Bama, ND, and Wiscy should all be interesting ones.
Ok lets try again
- Alabama at Ole Miss, CBS, 3:30
- Baylor at Texas, ABC, 3:30
- Navy at Air Force, CBS Sports Net, 3:30
- North Carolina State at Clemson, ESPNU, 3:30
- Oklahoma at TCU, Fox, 3:30
- Stanford at Notre Dame, NBC, 3:30
- Wisconsin at Northwestern, ESPN2, 3:30
- Kansas at West Virginia, FSN, 4
- Oregon State at Colorado, Pac-12, 4
- Vanderbilt at Georgia, SEC, 4

How come Saban was yelling at that linebacker for blowing a coverage?? Doesn't he know that clapping is a better motivator?

Carr smiled at the 99 runs to the left.

Did we trade Nuss to Bama last night?
This is hardly the futuristic Lane Kiffin offense Saban was crowing about in the media this week.

Golson has thrown about 10 1 hoppers to wideouts today

This TCU OU game is very entertaining folks. A lot of slog games on the other channels due to weather or defenses or whatnot.

WIsconsin looked absymal at the half last week too. I think they win this one running away.

from the officials, as an obvious facemask inffraction was either ignored or simply missed. Sucks to see Mississippi burned for a TD under those circumstances, as 'Bama doesn't need extra help.
October 4th, 2014 at 5:12 PM ^
Bama gets def. TD. Media reaction = Saban's a defensive genius.

ND using cheap childish tactics in South Bend??? Whaaaaaaat?
October 4th, 2014 at 5:17 PM ^
He should've been tackled.

Treadwell & #9 ND.Love to see JMFR have a speedy LB by his side.Funchess-Treadwell a nice combo as mentioned before by others.

I haven't watched a second of the game, but how is Northwestern shutting out Wisconsin?
October 4th, 2014 at 5:25 PM ^
Wisconsin has been playing a converted S at QB all year. He is 4/10 for 24 yds in 1st half. He is now being replaced by Stave.
NW could have a defense - they held PSU to nearly nothing last week and all Wisconsin has is running but NW is doing ok.

Have to give Charlie Strong credit for that Texas defense. Held Baylor to 7 pts in a half. Offense is a train wreck but I am very interested to see what he builds there in 2 years.
October 4th, 2014 at 5:25 PM ^
Baylor with 43 yards of passing at the half.
Florida should have went after Strong a year ago.

Correct. They actually shut out Baylor in the 1st half which is an incredible feat
October 4th, 2014 at 5:23 PM ^
I am shocked that a missed call in the SEC would go toward the higher ranked school! Its amazing how that always happens.
October 4th, 2014 at 5:24 PM ^
I'm not blaming him at all for not getting either guy just enjoying a non-female involved fantasy.
October 4th, 2014 at 5:32 PM ^
Does ND have a full house? I don't think I've seen a full stadium look that sparse at half time.

I know the FSU offense doesn't look great, but they have allowed 27 yards against Power 5 team and the game is in the 3rd qtr. That's impressive.
October 4th, 2014 at 5:43 PM ^
That is pretty impressive. But serious question...Would you be impressed if they did that against us?
October 4th, 2014 at 5:42 PM ^
I hate that there's no way I can imagine UM running a reverse for a TD as well as NU just did.
October 4th, 2014 at 5:47 PM ^
Unfortunately not.

NW takes advantage of the Wisc turnover
October 4th, 2014 at 5:45 PM ^
Is NW finding its footing or is the Big Ten just a laughingstock?
October 4th, 2014 at 5:50 PM ^
If Wisconsin loses that game that removes basically the only chance the East winner has of getting a quality win the Big10 title game.
October 4th, 2014 at 6:26 PM ^
They're probably the Big Ten's best chance for a playoff team at this point since they're the only ones who can go undefeated. MSU's loss against Oregon isn't as dandy anymore

Miami (NTM) is driving on UMass. Down 41-28 with under 10 to play. Could be MU's first win since 2012, the first win by any of the teams Michigan has beaten over an FBS team.
Also this:
Morris on the field throwing...Brady Hoke just took the ball from him and threw it. Morris started laughing.
