Adidas Gear Embarrassment
Alright, I'm not normally one to bash Adidas. I have actually supported Adidas where others have screamed ZOMG BRING BACK NIKE!!!11 but after seeing some of the "new" gear for 2011, I have officially abandoned Adidas.
For example, this hat looks like it was designed by a mom and pop souvenir shop in a small town for a high school with 200 students or a Meijer product:

Seriously? This is getting horrible. I understand the contract aspect, money and everything else but their apparel design is really going downhill.
What is maize? Not only does everyone has a different definition, but it has changed every decade since the University's inception.
This is the most annoying compaint ever - "Why can't things be the way I specifically want them?"
Yup, those are ugly.
My solution is that I won't buy one or wear one if given to me for free. Problem solved. That one's free.
I am with you. I am a track and running guy that detests Nike and gave adidas a chance. Those are the cheapest Michigan hats I have seen and I have seen some cheap knockoffs at Lids.
They look like they came out of an off-brand bargain bin.

they will look like you can buy a hat across from the stadium and know you are getting the same quality.....I know everything is going back to the eighties, but I don't want Ashton Kutcher wearing a UofM trucker hat....

I like that hat better if it didn't have that mini hat attached to the top of it.

Those are dreadful! I don't think Napolean Dynamite would wear such a hat. 
seriously, just because adidas makes a few hats that are ass-ugly doesn't mean that the sky is falling. adidas has been making great uniforms (most important imo) for the team, has provided excellent service, and pays the school a shitload of money.

Adidas didn't "make" any uniforms, they've been around forever.
so denard is wearing the same unis that ol 98 used to wear?
perhaps manufacture is a better word, but the quality of the uniforms that adidas manufactures is top notch. i have replicas of both the old nike unis and the current adidas unis. the adidas unis are fantastic - they're light, they wick away moisture, i.e. perfect for football players. the home uniforms haven't changed, and we don't have the idiotic pro-combat uniforms that osu wears.
Urgh. We're stuck with them until 2015, unfortunately.
This and the RR hire are 2 things I will never forgive Bill Martin for.
because he made our athletic department the most profitable in the country, got the big house renovated, hired beilein (at least we got one sucessful west virginia import) and started the ball rolling on the crysler renovations

Is it just me or does the yellow one look like it is made out of velvet or something?
I may sound like a young whippersnapper, but I hate the old orangey maize (and yes, I know the old color is more accurate to its name) and greatly prefer the new, bright version. I do prefer the Nike uniform style though.
I agree, the only thing I do like about adidas is the brighter maize. Sometimes the old color looked like you were in an old gym with really bad lights.
Or maybe they just did not want to darken the blue or maybe they were intended for that other school with similar helmet design.
I am glad I am not the only one boycotting the adidas stuff. I have not bought any Michigan gear since 2008 (when they signed with adidas) and do not plan to in the future. I'm just glad that I have a lot of it that should last me until they drop adidas.

Saw those at the M-Den. Very nice - it has a dense but not too thick fabric with an interesting texture that looks cool in person. Much nicer than your average hoodie. Would recommend if you don't mind the $70 price tag.
looks great. its simple. Typically Adidas and subtlety dont go together.
Is the best hoodie/sweatshirt I've ever owned. Period. I have seriously considered buying multiple back ups for when they're not available anymore. I want to have a brand new one to pull out of the closet when I'm 70.
Also, I think the quality of the replica jerseys are terrible. They started off terrible but have gotten slightly better but still terrible quality jerseys I think. I just think this adidas move was terrible overall. Not to mention the football has had its worst years since we made the switch from Adidas to Nike...haha
