About Greg Sankey, SEC Commissioner:

Submitted by M and M Boys on

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is from New York.

He graduated from the State University of New York College @ Cortland

His masters degree in Education is from Syracuse University.

He was the Director of Intramural Sports at Utica College (NY).

He originally moved to the south to become Director of Compliance at Northwestern State University.  He also coached the Golf Team there (two years).

He was commissioner of the Southland Conference before joining the SEC in 2002.

He likes to run marathons.

He is currently the chairman of the NCAA's Division I Committee on Infractions.

Sankey bolted onto the MGOBLOG in a jetstream fashion for his anti-opinions of the IMG Camp (and future camps like it for a variety of developing reasons). His background (above) might be helpful to those of you who did not know him last week at this time.

According the CBSSports.com, "Sankey does not want to dive into a war of words with Michigan's coach."

"I'm not going to reduce what is an important convesation to some childhood use of Twitter,"

he said.  "This is an important issue".

Double post different thread. This is a list of all of the things Sankey is looking to ban: 1. Holding practices during Spring Break; 2. Satellite camps, 3. Sleepovers; 4. Cool weirdness; 5. Recruiting by any coach who has taken an NFL team to the Super Bowl, or has a brother who has done so; 6. Recruiting while wearing khakis; 7. Anyone who approaches recruiting with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

Can the Michigan Daily send a reporter to his next presser to simply ask him how he feels about the Michigan women's softball team playing games in California over their spring break? Anything less than TOTAL OUTRAGE will be unacceptable.

Go Blue.

going to do aout the sexual predators, sneaky under the table payoffs, and phony medical scholarships in the SEC???

Seems like he's got plenty of things to keep busy with instead of wasting everyone's time with his senseless griping.

He did sound very articulate this morning in a long interview. He sounded like a SEC sloppy when he pretended he is only looking out for students well being and safety.

that considers their latest transmitted "twat' to be of significant importance loses any respect I might have had for them by making such a statement.

Mr Sankey, how is that possible that the SEC supported the move to a four team cfp since that adds 10 days to the season of two teams thereby requiring those teams to spend more prep time? Further, at least some of that prep time occurs over a students break. What about the sanctity of the students off time?
