alternate headline: man does job
Harbaugh’s team picked up some ground yesterday. They now stand in the top half of the field at -7. They need to pick up about 5 strokes on the field to get into the top 25 and make the cut. That may be a long shot, but is not bad, considering that Harbaugh’s pro partner continued his awful play (+7 for the tourney; only 8 of 156 players are worse).
The Harbaugh team was to tee off at Pebble Beach today at 11.22 am ET. But the fog has caused a 30 minute delay. That may help our chances to get TV coverage of him when CBS broadcasts from 3-6pm. But the pros in his group are not doing well, so CBS may not show much. A better bet with more extended coverage will be to watch the free streaming coverage of holes 10 and 17. He should hit the 10th at about 2pm ET (around the same time as the start of UM-Purdue BB) .

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is from New York.
He graduated from the State University of New York College @ Cortland
His masters degree in Education is from Syracuse University.
He was the Director of Intramural Sports at Utica College (NY).
He originally moved to the south to become Director of Compliance at Northwestern State University. He also coached the Golf Team there (two years).
He was commissioner of the Southland Conference before joining the SEC in 2002.
He likes to run marathons.
He is currently the chairman of the NCAA's Division I Committee on Infractions.
Sankey bolted onto the MGOBLOG in a jetstream fashion for his anti-opinions of the IMG Camp (and future camps like it for a variety of developing reasons). His background (above) might be helpful to those of you who did not know him last week at this time.
According the CBSSports.com, "Sankey does not want to dive into a war of words with Michigan's coach."
"I'm not going to reduce what is an important convesation to some childhood use of Twitter,"
he said. "This is an important issue".
JH is ignoring the SEC and relaxing at the Pebble Beach pro am this weekend. He was seen on Wed high fiving Bill Murray and Mark Wahlberg on the 7th hole at Pebble. He starts his official round today on 1st tee of Spyglass at 10:01am PT, 1:01 pm ET. Sarah is his caddy.

(I do not think the above channels will show Harbaugh at Spyglass)
Harbaugh will be at Pebble on Sat (and possibly Sun), when CBS coverage takes over 3-6pm ET.
Looks like Jim is going to tee it up this week at Pebble Beach with the pros. Lots of questions on my mind.
1. Does he make the cut to Sunday? (The competitor in him must be burning to make the cut.)
2. Attire? (Full Harbaugh? Rickie Fowler high tops and joggers?)
3. How's the swing? (Smooth athletic swing with the help of coaching or a unique home grown swing?)
4. Clubs? (Assuming a new bag of Taylormades)
5. Pro to be paired with? (My pick: Jason Day)
Good luck to our coach out there. Hit them straight and enjoy yourself!
EDIT: Swing looks pretty good; smooth just like his recruiting pitch.
Is anyone else out there in MGoBlogdom watching the British Open? Some amazing golf being played in this rain-soaked tournament, they're finally getting in the final round of this Golf Major (due to weather delays on Friday, everything was pushed back a day).
Adam Scott just tapped in for a birdie to tie Zach Johnson for the lead at -15, Jordan Spieth, in his attempt at golf's Grand Slam is in a 3-way tie at -14, and several other golfers are within striking range at -10 or better.
Normally, being 5 shots back with half a round to play would all but eliminate anyone that far back, but with the windy, rainy conditions on The Old Course, anything goes. The weather has gotten much worse over the last half-hour, so the final few groups have to now deal with far-less-than-ideal conditions from here on out. The final pair, BTW, is now on the 7th hole.
