6 seniors and Hutchinson. A great crop of leaders, indeed!

Nice group! Kemp could be a possible 3-time captain next year; a potential silver lining with the Covid season. Do any super fans recall a former 3 time captain?

So does every single player get automatic eligibility for next year no matter how much they play this year?
October 19th, 2020 at 9:28 PM ^
Yup. If Milton plays out the entirety of his eligibility, he will have played QB in six seasons!
October 19th, 2020 at 10:09 PM ^
Not down with that whole thing. If the season remained cancelled or if a player chose to sit out for health concerns then ok. Once the B10 said we are playing they should have withdrew that rule. Except for if an individual sits out. There are going to be guys transferring because of it and there will be recruits who look at a stacked position that may otherwise not be and decide to commit somewhere else.

You're suggesting changing the rules in a way that negatively impacts the players midway through the season? Even the NCAA isn't that awful.
October 19th, 2020 at 10:32 PM ^
So you’re saying...Chris Evans could still be playing in 2021? He really will become the football version of Robbie Hummel
October 19th, 2020 at 11:27 PM ^
Luiji Vilain will get a 7th year of eligibility if he wants it.

Quickly looking at the Bentley Library record (https://bentley.umich.edu/athdept/football/fbcapt/fbcapt.htm), Horace Prettyman was the only three-time captain, and that was a few years ago: in '84, '85, and '86.

Nice find rendezvous - thank you. Ole Horse Face, the pretty man.

1884-1886?!
October 19th, 2020 at 11:07 PM ^
1984, 1985, 1986 or 1884, 1885, 1886? (Horace Prettyman sounds like a distinguished nineteenth-century name.)
October 20th, 2020 at 11:45 AM ^
A few decades ago. 1884-1886

If only there were someone super devoted to the wolverines...

IIRC Kemp said this would be his last year regardless
October 20th, 2020 at 10:14 AM ^
No 3-time ones*, but several 2-time ones. Kemp would be the first:
Kirk Lewis 75-76
Mike Mallory 84-85 — he’s the closest to a 3-timer, as his brother Doug became captain in 87.
Jarrett Irons 95-96
Jon Jansen 97-98
Steve Hutchinson 99-00
Jake Long 06-07
Jake Ryan 13-14
Ben Bredeson 18-19
Carlo Kemp 19-20
*Edit: I stand corrected. As detailed in comments above this one, the fabulously named Horace Prettyman was a three-time captain in the 1880s.

I always like it when a walk-on like Vastardis gets named as a captain.
Who was our most recent walk-on captain? Kovacs in 2012?
October 19th, 2020 at 9:57 PM ^
That’s correct, surprising that none of the 3 Glasgow’s were voted.
October 19th, 2020 at 9:26 PM ^
I don't care how many there are. At least we set our captains for the season as it should be. Not that individual game captains BS Hoke ran.
October 20th, 2020 at 10:17 AM ^
Rich Rodriguez had single-game captains in 2008 and 2009 as well.

No skill position players, we’re doomed!!!!
Hit the panic button... hurry!!!!!
October 19th, 2020 at 10:58 PM ^
Your sarcastic personality will probably be pleased next year if/when Ronnie Bell is a captain.
October 19th, 2020 at 10:55 PM ^
Milton not a captain. Panic
October 19th, 2020 at 11:08 PM ^
Yeah, but he's captain on the links.

Shea played so much golf because of a Kremlin plot. You bastages
