2013 OH S Jayme Thompson visits Michigan
Via Facebook (no I'm not one of those guys, he used to go to my school).
Had a real nice visit at Michigan today...real nice place
I'm sure there will be some sort of news about it in tomorrow's Recruiting entry. Even though I am a little concerned about his loyalty, he is a very athletic prospect and has an opprotunity to earn a scholarship offer from Michigan.
EDIT: It's a problem with the player's loyalty, not that I wouldn't want him to go to Michigan.

Why are you strongly against him coming here?
November 15th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
It is confusing. I think the Jayme Norf Thompson character is against the kid coming to M, but the OP is for it.
November 15th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
But I thought the kid was Jayme Thompson... I am confused as well.
November 15th, 2011 at 8:57 PM ^
Yeah my bad. I tried to make sense of it all and failed miserably.
November 15th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
It's a long story. I just question the guy's character. He left my school because he was sick of losing to our rival so he went to CCHS(our rival). Hopefully when he does make his college decision and sticks to it.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:00 PM ^
Was that so hard?
November 15th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
Actually that wasn't a very long story and cleared things up immensely. You should include it in your initial post IMO.

Justin Boren?
November 15th, 2011 at 10:12 PM ^
Is this the actual story or the story that everybody heard at school? That might not even be what really happened...
November 15th, 2011 at 10:49 PM ^
Yeah. I lost my two best HS teammates to our rival. Our rival actually took football seriousily, had paid assistants and a good track record with putting kids in D-I programs. Our program had a bunch of volunteers and thought it was a big deal when we had a kid get a D-II offer.
Can't say I really blamed my teammates, who had D-I talent, for making the move.
November 15th, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
I know him personally he left because he was not getting no playing time.so left now he's rated. thats funny
November 16th, 2011 at 1:30 AM ^
Really isn't that odd. I knew a couple of kids who did that at my school, mainly because they couldn't stay academically eligible. Transferred to other rival schools.
Also, Rocko Khoury basically did the exact same thing up in Traverse City with Central and West.

Jesse, I have mentioned this before. He left SFS because he thought he might struggle getting into the NCAA with his current status there. So he went to CCHS which has a LD program that he could excel in and help him get into the NCAA. It wasn't because he was sick of losing.
November 15th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
Ill be that guy and ask, did he beat you up or something?
November 15th, 2011 at 9:39 PM ^
He got his Bobbum ruined by his equipmunk...
November 15th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
better than mundane ejaculation man.
November 15th, 2011 at 8:57 PM ^
I'd hate for him to go to Michigan as well. World class education, once in a life time athletic opportunities, and getting to play and be apart of the greatest and most storied football program in the country. I couldn't even begin to imagine how horrible that would be for him.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
It's not that, I just question his commitment not only to Michigan but to any college.

have a great safety in Dymonte Thomas so bringing in another top safety from the state of Ohio would be pretty nice. I know Dymonte is a 4 star in the early scout top 100 for juniors. He is also a good RB for Marlington, but I would think safety where he ends up.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:00 PM ^
....it has to be the "Norf" thing. Clearly, the OP hates even misspelled, incidental "Pinky And The Brain" references.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:03 PM ^
Well, really it is just to represent North Toledo but let's go with that story. Its waaaay better.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
I also don't think Shane Morris should come to Michigan. We don't need any future first round draft picks here.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
Before you go all I don't want any first round picks, read my edit or any other comments.
November 15th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
Are so.......
November 15th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
Quality safety depth has been an issue for like a decade or so. If this kid comes we start to stack up pretty well for the future.
Kovacs
T. Gordan
M. Robinson, J Furman
J. Wilson, A. Gant, J. Clark
D. Thomas, ????????
No matter how you look at it this staff seems to understand that you have to build quality depth and are doing so . . . . now for that Dunn kid!!!!
November 15th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
Plus he's got the speed to play corner, I think the only reason he is projected as a Safety is because he's tall and has hitting power.
November 15th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
Shaq Thompson would be nice.
November 16th, 2011 at 12:11 PM ^
Carter, maybe Taylor
November 15th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
I'm not sure if this is just on my computer, but I no longer see the mgoblog banner. Are banner renovations underway!?
November 15th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
At this point, don't hold your breath for Marvin.
November 15th, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
Jayme Thompson received an offer today from Michigan.

NORF!
November 15th, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
If the coaches want him, then I'm not worried about it. I was never really a fan of my high school, but I am certainly a fan of my college. Loyalty works in weird ways. He could end up all blue in the GBOD mold. Once again, I defer to the coaches' judgment.
November 16th, 2011 at 2:10 AM ^
this is a strange, strange thread.
November 16th, 2011 at 7:39 AM ^
One strange thing is no one has commented on the link to the kid's facebook page. I thought that was a no-no? Or is that just links to other users' facebook?
November 16th, 2011 at 11:08 AM ^
To the OP: Jayme's a good kid who did have issues at SFS. He's in a better position now and at a school and with a coach that gets kids into DI programs.
Be careful about citing "character" when your school is now seen as the dirtiest program around with a coach who resigned partly because of the type of program he ran and the consistent losing that has occured in his two years as coach.
November 16th, 2011 at 11:36 AM ^
so maybe we can chalk up his decisions to being 15-16 yrs old and wanting a fresh start.

At 17 years old life is tough enough without trying to fight to change the system. Look at it this way. You live in the City of Detroit. Nothing works. Every other day your home or business is broken into and the police take forever to respond because they are over worked. Schools are failing. Do you fight to make things better or do you move to the suburbs. Judging by the population loss people are moving to the suburbs. I am sure this kid wanted his old school to be better at football. I am sure he wanted his old coaches to be better at coaching. I am sure he had lots of friends. Guess what? He chose to go to a school he knew was better in football because he wanted to go D1 instead of hoping to go to D1 with an inferior program. It is why parents move to the wealthier suburbs when they become successful, it is why parents send kids to Catholic schools and private schools. Good for him. He is making it happen for him as opposed to hoping for it to happen with things he can't control
