If you look at the first team dude, Harrison Mevis of Missouri, and compare his stats last year to Moody's, they're almost identical:

Mevis:  92% FG made - 23 of 25, 41 out of 41 extra points and 110 points scored.

Moody:  92% FG made - 23 of 25, 56 out of 56 extra points, and 125 total points.

So, I'd say because Moody scored more points and played for a better team, AND won the Groza award last year, he deserved to be the first team guy.  The USA Today editor is probably a Missouri grad.

I agree that all 3 of these guys have potential to make some All American list by the end of the year, along with Zinter and Corum who were mentioned above. Would require significant improvements for any of them -- or in Corum's case not missing as much time to injury -- so I have no complaints about them not making pre-season teams.

I think All American is a stretch for Colson in his sophomore (?) year. Second- or third-team all conference would be great.

How the hell is the 2021 Lou Groza Award Winner and consensus AA first-team kicker in 2021 on the second team AA this year? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here

Galvin mans the blindside for the Bears and is the top offensive lineman in the Big 12. Chandler blossomed during the second half of last season and has flourished in the run game and as a pass protector. Patterson is the veteran anchor of Notre Dame's front and draws first-team honors over Minnesota senior John Michael Schmitz. Oluwatimi transferred in from Virginia to give Michigan another piece to defend its Big Ten crown. Johnson will transition from the interior to tackle and not miss a beat.

Go F yourselves. He might not miss a beat, but he will definitely whiff on our DEs. They say a factual thing about Olu.. he transferred. What insightful commentary!

Emil Ekiyor, a former Michigan commit, is also on this list. He also belongs on the Robbie Hummel/Perry Ellis memorial message thread from a couple of days ago about athletes who’ve seemingly been around forever.

So in other words, none of the returning players on offense or defense that have already played for Michigan merit consideration for AA.

This might be a questionable judgement considering we're a playoff team that is returning a large number of players, but I like the fact that none are getting any real hype telling them how good they are.

The unspoken consensus of the national sportswriters seems to be that last season was a one-off and we won't be repeating its successes.
