Got some pretty frank quotes out of Gardner.  Is it me, or is he talking in maybe not the highest terms about Borges?  My thoughts on the article were generally "gaaahhhhal;djfoeiBORGESjfaldjjflaev" or something along those lines.  Oh well.  It's in the past as they say.

This topic is certainly... something. Edit: well the TC edited the initial post, making my attempt at a little snark irrelevant. So in lieu of that; God dammit Borges!

Thanks. I've replayed that at least 20,000x since 2013.  I imagine any number of ways we could have come out of the timeout with a different play from the same formation.  Shit, don't motion The Threat, then run him to the other pylon.

Your core point regarding (many) OSU fans being morans still holds!

I initially made the same assumption, but remembered that yesterday's LGHL article was a book review rather than an excerpt.  In any event, cheers to the OP for posting this, even if the following Gardner quote regarding the failed two-point conversion two seasons ago gives me a very big sad:

"I know, I know," he said, with a resigned grin. "They [the Buckeyes] called a time-out and we come back with the same look, the same play. When you see them set up, you knew they were ready for us. I'm pretty sure the only person who didn't know they knew was Al Borges. That's the only way they covered it so well."

Quoting 11W on here is something that is not unheard of, but definitely rare.  I'm conflicted as to whether the lack of a link is a good thing or a bad thing.
