So as many of you may know, that’s Spartan Bob in the photo.

I DJ at a number of college bars in East Lansing. Spartan Bob has made a habit of strolling up - in his usual outfit - to me and demanding the microphone so he can acapella sing the fight song. We used to tolerate it, but during the middle of a show with a few hundred 19 year olds salivating for another pitbull song, it doesn’t fly anymore. But it doesn’t stop him from bitching to me and acting super put out that I won’t let him hiJack my set.

Just weird overall.

I was gonna say I might respect MSU a little more if they stuck to football instead of constantly thinking up ways to turn the rivalry into a loathsome spectacle. . .

And then they apparently jumped on the "sign stealing rumors" and threw out some crap about "we considered not playing out of the safety of our players". . . which is basically a gloating, psychopathic slap in the face of the Michigan players that got viciously attacked last year.

Why do they insist on being such a shameless trash program?  Can't they stick to football for once?!

Not trying to be contrary.

I thought Indiana had some defensive ability and they showed that for a quarter. My recall is that I picked UM by 35 or 40.

But I was wrong to have some worry about them, conceded.

I picked UM 34-10 against MSU but believe MSU is competent,

I hope I am wrong again; nothing would make me happier than a complete blowout.

I suppose contrarian is harsh but in any event I think it’s subjective when you are on the margins of terrible. If a team has 1 even all big ten caliber player, they are terrible. If they can muster putting together a good quarter and that is pretty much what people expected, they are terrible. I do remember you having contrarian takes on caleb Houstan and I’ll give credit to you there.

To me, "contrarian" means just having a different view for the sake of it. That's not my nature.

I thought Haskins would be a fine player at UM despite his low rankings, after looking at his tape. Same for Ronnie Bell. I saw nothing special in the highly regarded RBs who came to UM---Green and Walker. These weren't contrarian views. They were just views. Same deal for Caleb. I watched 3/4 games he played in Europe and they were brutal. While I thought he had some ability, it sure wasn't in shooting the ball---something like 10/52 from 3 and I wasn't nuts about his mechanics. I loved Kobe Bufkin's game and was humblified by that view---until I wasn't.

I loved Semaj Morgan when I saw him. I liked the tape of Fred Moore. I talked up Ben Hall before the spring game. We will see how these guys do, but I felt all were well undervalued.

I have also been wrong on many things, of course. I was skeptical of R. Benny as a DL---I felt he was better as an OL when I saw him. I thought Donovan Edwards was a great athlete but not a great RB--though at the time I said the NFL would love his ability to catch the ball. Probably wrong there. I likely undervalued him.

I am sure I have been wrong about many things that you can recall.

Being on a show like the RT I can either keep my opinions private or just risk being wrong to some significant degree. I have chosen the latter and, for you at least, that has placed me on the "margins of terrible." That's OK. No beef from me. At some point, if my views are routinely idiotic or just aggravating, I suspect Sam and Ira will get rid of me. And that's OK too. I have never been under the delusion that my views are particularly prescient or important. Mostly, I just like being a part of it and getting to interact with Michigan fans because of it.
