One Frame At A Time: Jabrill Peppers, Wizard
Jabrill Peppers and his Paramus Catholic squad scrimmaged against Red Bank Catholic today. I don't know the final score, nor do I care, because HOLY MOTHER OF GOD LOOK AT THIS RUN:
[Video version here for the GIF-averse.]
A smattering of Twitter reactions that didn't contain totally-justified expletives:
@AceAnbender @JabrillPeppers Should be on Sesame Street. NINE broken tackles! One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine!

247's JC Shurburtt went so far as to suggest that Michigan should play Peppers at running back, even with the presence of Derrick Green on the roster. If you've got the time, our whole conversation is worth checking out:
@AceAnbender I think he's worlds better than Green and Green/Smith could compliment him well in a two-back Brown/Cadillac/Borges deal.

Anyway, just wanted to post that our cornerback recruit—whose next-best position is supposedly safety, followed by wide receiver—just broke the internet as a running back. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee.
UPDATE: Slow-motion with me...
From the top: Broken tackle, immediate juke right, juke left, dip shoulder, broken tackle, stiffarm(!), reverse field (time elapsed: 3.3 seconds thus far), broken tackle, spin move, spin move, spin move to break tackle, stiffarm, waltz into end zone. All of that happened in 8.5 seconds. I keep trying to write words and then get distracted by the pictures, so I'll just stop trying and let you do the same.

I'm saying he will be at all nor am I trying to heap this kind of pressure on HS kid, but my God did that look like a Tom Harmon run.
Guys trying to tackle him at the waist and him spinning out and running.
Very interesting....

I'm pretty confident Peppers will play both offense and defense. RB is a position that takes a lot of pounding, so I don't see him as a starter there, but he could certainly be a contributor at returner, WR, RB, and still start at CB or S.
It's impossible not to be excited about this kid.

If someone tips off Child Protective Services to that stiff-arm on #17.

Jabrill won't be running through an entire team that easily at the next level.

So how many other schools can say that they have an incoming freshman who hit #1 on the SportsCenter Top 10? I really don't care what position he plays, what his weight is, or what his favorite food is... you stand out on a football field like that and you are a beast. Can't wait to see that #5 in Maize and Blue!

I laughed so hard watching the Red Bank coach point at Jabrill. He's standing in the secondary right in the middle of the field. I wish I could of heard what he said when he was pointing.
