1. Previewing Colorado State

starts at 1:00

Michigan is in the tournament and opposing sports fans are mad! Colorado State is probably the best draw for Michigan - they are the worst 6-seed in the field by some distance. The gang discusses Colorado State's roster. Hunter Dickinson is bigger than most Mountain West players. The Rams are excellent at defending twos but will give up a lot of open threes, Michigan can't have a 16% day.

2. Potential 2nd Round Match-Ups (Tennessee)

starts at 20:48

It's probably not going to be Longwood. Tennessee is the best 3-seed in the field (two others are Big Ten teams that they wouldn't rematch Michigan with) - they've lost one game since the end of January. The Vols are the #3 defense in the country and wreak havoc with speed on the perimeter. They're not a juggernaut offensively. Better than having to play any of the #1 or #2 seeds, though. Tennessee has fast guards and are #8 in the country in take-aways. Need neutral-court Caleb Houston to hit half of his shots to help give Hunter Dickinson 1-on-1 matchups. Tennessee shoots well from three but not as well from two - Michigan needs to exploit this.

3. Hot Takes and Big Ten Predictions

starts at 40:14

Takes hotter than Indiana fans who are like "why-do-we-have-to-go-to-Dayton-because-we-won-that-game-and-you-did-not-win-that-game-and-we're-just-going-to-ignore-what-happened-the-rest-of-the-season-cuz-that-doesn't-count-for-us-at-all-it's-just-the-one-game-THAT'S-WHAT-COUNTS." The Michigan win/loss pattern is a re-occurring theme. Not much optimism about a Big Ten team winning it all - bad news for Brian's annual bracket pick of Iowa winning it all. What's Wisconsin going to do when a non-Big Ten ref tells Brad Davison "you can't do that"?

4. Hockey

starts at 1:00:01

Michigan beats Notre Dame at their own game in the coolest Yost environment in a long time. Michigan got a penalty for... embellishment? It felt like Michigan was cursed when the score was tied 1-1, but Michigan scored and held Notre Dame to four shots in the third period. Michigan is locked into the first or second overall seed in the NCAA tournament. Ohio State with a 41% chance of making the tournament- root for Bemidji!

For dedicated sports fans, it's been a very busy few days.

For me, partly busy, partly less dedicated, I barely paid attention once Michigan lost.

Howevah, today feels like waking from hibernation. Things are stirring. Things are brighter. Things are even Brady. Lots to look forward to.

Thanks for posting this!  Perfect for my commute in on a Monday morning.

I know you guys threw this together after the selection show without much prep time, but one thing to note.  We have another common opponent with CSU - UNLV.  They lost by double digits to UNLV twice and we won easily.

Now, the reality is that Michigan is a very erratic team with their jump shooting and defense so it is hard to know what to expect.  Likewise I have often felt that the B10 has a lot of great coaches who scout the hell out of opponents and it is hard to figure out teams late in the year once everyone knows their opponents so well.

I live in Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma fans are pretty salty about not getting an invite and are mad that the Big Ten has 9 teams in. I hope a league representative can't do much to sway the committee's decisions, but the OU fans are convinced the Big Ten has some unholy influence, and the Big 12 doesn't have their back (which, that really could be the case).

Like some of the IU fans, they think their wins in the league tournament should erase all of their failings during the season.

Agree on everything about Jerry Palm.  He has had Michigan out of his bracket for the last week and even going into Sunday and then somehow, for no rhyme or reason at 5:00 on Sunday afternoon he updates his bracket one last time and inserts Michigan into his last 4 in.  That seems extremely sketchy.

Its almost as if CBS were feeding him the final brackets from the committee meetings before they released them. I think his credibility is shot as far as predicting the brackets going into the future.  I believe he missed on 3 or 4 teams last year and his shenanigans this year do not help him.

IU fan: Injustice!  How did the committee overlook the head-to-head result?

M fan: Oh, you mean when we beat you by 18 points on your court?

IU fan: That game doesn't count!  We weren't playing well then!

Will be very interesting to see who Hunter guards.  I agree with Matt that Johns seems like the best person to guard Roddy who is a very interesting matchup challenge.

They aren't good at defense so gotta hit open shots.
