Jim Harbaugh GIF Tournament 2016: Sweet 16
Oh, man, it's about to get good. Before we get to the Sweet Sixteen matchups, here's a look at the results from the Miscellaneous Harbaugh region, which nearly featured a major upset:
#1 Good Shit, Jedd: 972 (52%)
#8 Exit Stage Right: 903 (48%)
#4 Head Scratcher: 973 (60%)
#5 Cringe Emoji: 651 (40%)
#3 Pffffffhahahaha: 969 (57%)
#6 What F-ing Happened: 723 (43%)
#2 Snow Crabs?: 1,005 (60%)
#7 Shoulder Slump: 678 (40%)
The first round nearly went chalk across all four regions. That should change as we progress to the next round, which features some brutally difficult choices—especially, as you might expect, in the Bad Times region. Here's your Sweet Sixteen; I finally figured out how to make each poll open in a new tab, which should make the voting process a lot less annoying.
THE GOOD TIMES
(1) Harbaugh As Grinch vs. (4) Harbaugh/Drevno Awkward Celebration
Def. Harbaugh Clapping 93% to 7% in first round
That moment when Harbaugh snaps from bored press conference mode to diabolical Bond villian mode makes this GIF for me.
Def. Harbaugh/Drevno Successful Fist Bump 56% to 44% in first round
Hypothesis: Harbaugh switches up his celebratory bumps/high-fives/daps at the last moment just to see if his assistants can adjust on the fly.
Drevno passed, but it got hairy for a moment there.
(2) Spring Game Grin vs. (3) "You're Really Good"
Def. Fist Pump 76% to 24% in the first round.
If anyone has ever been more content to be at a spring game, I haven't seen it.
Def. Rudock Hug-Like Substance 57% to 43% in the first round.
Harbaugh geeking out over how good Jabrill Peppers is at football is remarkably endearing.
THE BAD TIMES
(1) Rage Stripping vs. (5) Rage On The Run
Def. Hat Antics 88% to 12% in the first round.
Given the horrified reaction of John Baxter...
...we probably should've anticipated his departure for USC.
Def. Sheet Throw 56% to 44% in the first round.
The on-the-run, back-to-front hat removal is spectacular.
(2) Slow-Motion Meltdown vs. (3) WELL OKAY
Def. Intent To Deceive 79% to 21% in the first round.
This matchup...
Def. Plea To The Football Gods 86% to 14% in the first round.
...is the toughest matchup.
HARBAUGH IN ACTION
(1) Dr. Harbaugh vs. (5) Hype-Up Beating
Def. Pre-Snap Adjustment 80% to 20% in the first round.
The BTN is thankful they weren't showing the reverse angle.
Def. Green Ass Smack 55% to 45% in the first round.
"Now go out there and kick some ass."
"Coach, I need smelling salts."
(2) Punt Demo vs. (3) Harbaugh's Huddle
Def. What's The Call 86% to 14% in the first round.
Yet again...
...John Baxter is appalled.
Def. Ready To Play 57% to 43% in the first round.
From a pure visual standpoint, perhaps my favorite GIF in the field. The winged helmet remains untouchable.
MISCELLANEOUS HARBAUGH
(1) Good Shit, Jedd vs. (4) Head Scratcher
Def. Exit Stage Right 52% to 48% in the first round.
The GIF with a great story and not much action appears ripe for an upset after barely surviving the opening round.
Def. Cringe Emoji 60% to 40% in the first round.
This is essentially Cringe Emoji with a bonus headscratch, so it's no wonder this won by a comfortable margin in the first round.
(2) Snow Crabs? vs. (3) Pffffffhahahaha
Def. Shoulder Slump 60% to 40% in the first round.
A priceless reaction.
Def. What F-ing Happened 57% to 43% in the first round.
Ditto.

we've got a 32 GIF tourney after one season...
Also it's a shame that the two Grins can't meet in the finals. This is why we need non-region seeding Ace!!
Im taking Punt Demo to win it all!
I dont know Baughz, that Grinch grin is absolutely spot on. If that can get by the spring game grin, I think it has a real shot to take home the trophy.
My money is on Rage Stripping for the trophy...
HARBAUGH HUDDLE EVERYONE!
Geez, guys, it's not that hard to tell that this is a classic and will be played for generations. No, it doesn't have the Hargaugh anger/disgust/medical expertise/ pouting/stripping, but this is Harbaugh commanding his troops to march into battle.
This is our new Michigan.
Vote accordingly.
I just really like the sea of jerseys and winged helmets. I mean that is so cool.
Harbaugh's Huddle is the coolest looking gif. Classic and full of hype all at the same time. It makes me want to run thru a wall. And yet it is trailing by a wide margin at this point. C'mon people - don't let it lose.
Watching all the guys nodding in anticipation as he delivers the pep talk gives me chills. Definitely the best.
Punt Demo for the win
Look at your voting totals and how they decrease as you move through the the selections. My guess would be voters are stopping midway through because the format you selected (forcing the voter to view the voting reults individually each time after each vote and not once as a summary when they are done) is VERY time-consuming. I know I started scrolling to see how much longer this was going to take.
You might want to go into the setting of your survey engine and change that. Would make filling out the selections a LOT faster for whatever that's worth.
This was true before, but he changed it this time to open in a new tab. Makes it much quicker.
He did change it this time so that it opens a new tab. Though, even before, if you had access to a keyboard you could control + click for a new tab or if you were on mobile you could hold + click to open in a new tab. Still, the change is definitely welcome. I said the same thing.
These are some tough choices. I think 50% of my votes went to upsets. I think one of my fav gifs is the Harbaugh Huddle. That's just a great one.
I'm pretty sure it didn't hit the ref. He would have turned around. The sheet is on a string and it reached the end of the string, so it bounced back and looked like it hit something. But the ref was like 3 yards ahead of him at that point.
Harb-grinch ftw.
that the ref from Phafahahahaha (sp?) was just moved out of intensive self-respect care this week, and is now able to use a vending machine on his own.

Dr. Harbaugh is so simple yet full of so much awesomeness. The trainer bends down to go through his protocol and Jim is like - fuck all this, I know how to fix this real quick.
I've made $64,000 so far this year working online and I'm a full time student. Im using an online business opportunity I heard about and I've made such great money. It's really user friendly and I'm just so happy that I found out about it. Heres what I do,

I can't believe SLO MO is trailing...
Slo Mo has a tough matchup.
Well Okay is pure genius - so upset and the on screen shows a 24-point lead and a flag already thrown. Tough to beat that one.

The look in his eyes looks like he's trying to keep the evil alien from escaping his skull...
to have a lot of fun with football again. He's the best coach in the business and also gives so many funny moments as well.
really liking WELL OKAY, Punt Demo and Pffffffhaha
not sure which I like best
I'm still bitter about sheet throw going down too early. Just to remind everyone of its greatness, and the mistake that hundreds of you made:

What are you doing here, Hugh?
Damn. Voted chalk until the end, but now I can't decide between snow crabs and pfthaha. I disagree with Ace...this is the harder matchup for me to decide on. Can I choose both? Snow crabs has the story behind it, but also even without the edit it'd be an amazing shot of pure Harbaugh. However, in my mind, the other one is somehow even more HARBAUGH than the snow crabs one. I'm completely torn.
Edit: decided to go pfthaha. The charm of the GIF is in the face Harbaugh makes and I love attitude that shines through it. Same attitude I have when the ref makes an idiotic call. Whereas I think at least a portion of the charm of snow crabs is the camera work. That zoom is beautiful work, but then you attribute at least some of the Harbaughness to the camera and less to the man himself.
I am way overanalyzing this. I should make a diary or something. Use some charts. It'll be perfect.
