This has never been a blog holiday since it's always a game-week Monday, but… no game. So we're taking the day. Back tomorrow with more news about how nothing's happening and everyone is sad and some people are angry. Here's an otter.

I get the COVID related demands, but I confess that the anti-policing objectives left me a little flat. U-M’s Public Safety Dept is managed by one of the most progressive universities in the country, if not the world. They are subject to policies that, one assumes, are much more equitable than in other places. If it’s not DSPS monitoring COVID related policy compliance, then who should do it? Clearly, there are students who don’t feel compelled to follow the requirements, putting everyone at risk.

I agree with them. When I was in graduate school I taught some undergraduate courses for extra money along with my RA and regular job. I would strike as well, how are the student athletes more important than the general student body. Why risk the students and GA who instruct many of the undergraduate courses and will probably have to teach more, since the professors will just do research and not risk getting COVID by teaching a class.

We were looking at vacation homes Up North. Found one we liked in Sutton’s Bay, one we had actually rented for a week the year before. But inspection report said it was infested by otters. I didn’t even know that was a thing!  We passed.
