Underdog Friday Sets Up Saturday
Unbelievable finish to the Boise State-Nevada game for those of you who didn't stay up until two to see it. You'll catch the highlights on Sportscenter and College Gameday, but Boise's kicker missed a 26 yarder at the end of regulation to win it and a 29 yarder in OT. Nevada came down and kicked a field goal to take the game.
Very interesting that the first, second and fourth ranked teams all had close games(Oregon for most of the game). Makes it just that much more exciting for the inbreds at noon. Rankings don't mean anything in this rivalry, passion is what drives this game, shock the world!!!
GO BLUE!!!!

I feel good knowing there's another school out there that can't kick a 35-yarder.

Before today he was 13/16 with a 52-yard long.

Irrelevant when you blow two of 'em that would send your team to a BCS game.

Statistics and past performance are meaningless. We should have no fear trotting out Gibson for anything less than 45 yards today.

Someone put that Boise Kicker on Suicide watch. It was like watching Michigan field goal kicking.

let this be an omen for tomorrow!

If you mean missing field goals as an omen.... no thank you.
And wow that poor, poor kicker. He's going to wish he could trade places with Steve Bartman when he wakes up this morning.

thats all I can say!....loved the end of the game and have hated Boise State since they started their bullshit "we deserve a shot" chants....if you want a shot get into a better conference, but oh wait even the Pac 10(or should I say Pac 12) shut them down for poor academics. So I'm very glad that a good Nevada team crushed the hopes and dreams of what I saw as an overrated team.
-Now on to the Buckeyes! Cant wait to see Pryors first interception tomorrow!(and hopefully its pretty early in the game)

That Boise kicker is going to be haunted for the rest of his life.
Shame, too.
Still think TCU was the better non-AQ team. Just as good on offense, way better on defense. In fact, I think they are the 2nd best team in the country behind Auburn who showed something fierce today.
*Yes, I'm not sold on Oregon who besides beating a really good Stanford team haven't played anybody else of note*

to writing a REALLY entertaining BCS outlook diary tomorrow nite at halftime of the Auburn-Alabama game (Gene Chizik post-game, "Hey Saban how's my ass taste"), and now it's pretty simple.... Auburn wins SEC champ, they're in against Oregon, TCU gets the nonAQ autobid to the Rose Bowl, and provided less than 2 of the 1-loss Big Ten teams loses today, Big 10 will get two teams in the BCS.
Auburn loses, it's a crap shoot for two slots: the MyNCG where its either TCU or a 1-loss Auburn vs. Oregon, and if Auburn doesn't get the BCS MyNCG nod, where the SEC at-large BCS team, Auburn or LSU, goes-- Orange or Rose. Since the Rose can't take 2 Big Ten teams, the Oregon replacement would be either an SEC at-large putting a Big Ten team in as the Orange at-large, or Stanford to maintain Pac-10/Big-10 tradition with a SEC team in the Orange at-large & only 1 Big Ten team in the BCS. Everything else is pretty much falling into place.
Just remember this phrase... we beat a BCS team this year (UConn if they beat Cincy and So Florida the next two games)

......ruined what could have been a breakpoint year for the BCS in determining if they were pushed to develop a playoff system. Even if TCU somehow makes it into the MNC, there would only be one non-AQ school that is unbeaten and it seems like it would be more palatable to the BCS if that happens rather than two of them fighting it out to make it in.
I am hoping for a loss from Auburn next week as I seriously dislike them, and it has been compounded by the Newton situation and their thuggery from the defensive players.
