Justice Hayes back on the market
Apparently, Justice Hayes is reopening his recruitment.

thank you very much!
November 21st, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
We use more than one RB. Possibly they could compliment each other.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:34 PM ^
Dee Justice Gardner!
November 21st, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
that I don't want to scare off Dee Hart in the name of getting an in-state guy. I have no reason to think he would look elsewhere if Michigan began courting Hayes, I would just make damn sure Dee knew how important he is to the coaches.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:44 PM ^
I think we can safely assume Dee Hart is going to get scared by another recruit. The more talent, the better.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
Do you mean not scared. I agree. Justice can be RB and slot.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
Yeah, that should be "not scared". Good athletes can play lots of positions. Courtney Avery was a QB in high school.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:57 PM ^
But with all the recent history of guys transferring if they aren't starting as freshmen, I would hate to see a him get mad. I am all for taking both, assuming everyone realizes that they have a place on the team.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
But given that we've lost a ton of transfers, shouldn't that teach us not to put all our eggs in one basket?
November 21st, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
Well... as Mark Twain once said...
"If you put all your eggs in one basket, you better darn watch that basket."
November 21st, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
I've heard that they speak highly of each other.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
this offense likes to use multiple backs. Plus it's generally not a good habit to turn down 4 star top 100 kids from in-state who want to commit.
I know we need defensive guys, but we have a few more scholarships than we were anticipating, and unless the staff has reason to think taking Hayes would cost them Hart, I can't see any reason to say no.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:42 PM ^
The kid is a top talent and in state. Not to mention, he looks good not only running the ball but also catching it. Since the staff is still recruiting other back/slot players like Nealy and Rawls I can't imagine they would turn down Justice if he was interested. I would love to have him on board.
Remember one of the schollies this year was opened up by Austin White leaving.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
if not, no thx.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
Can he play safety or CB?
November 21st, 2010 at 8:49 PM ^
According to his Rivals profile...
On the Hoof: Hayes is built like a big cornerback.
Okay, that seals it...I'm a convert.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:32 PM ^
I'm fairly confident we'll end the class with either him or Thomas Rawls (pending ACT score)
November 21st, 2010 at 7:34 PM ^
"pretty sure" he knows where he wants to go. And the story was written by the Michigan Rivals guys.
I have no inside info whatsoever, but that's generally a pretty good heuristic.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
I wasn't aware of that, but that sounds like promising news. As far as I can recall, his decision was pretty much between ND and Michigan. Don't wanna count the chickens before they hatch, however.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:52 PM ^
better chance he wants to visit Tennessee after Arnett committed down there
but something is off with this
November 21st, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
I don't think he'd say that he "pretty much knows where he wants to go" without having visited there. And I don't think he'd say something that nebulous if he's just talking about visits, either
November 21st, 2010 at 7:57 PM ^
like I said something is missing, it doesn't add up. three days ago he was recruiting kids to ND, something is up
November 21st, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
Maybe he just realized that Notre Dame sucks.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
Man if ND sucks what is UM? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt10.htm?loc=interstitialskip
=)
November 21st, 2010 at 8:05 PM ^
Better than ND?
November 21st, 2010 at 8:05 PM ^
A team that's beaten Notre Dame the past two years, and historically leads the series. Amirght?
November 21st, 2010 at 8:06 PM ^
haha I thought you guys would get a kick out of that
November 21st, 2010 at 8:08 PM ^
Silly Irish, always pokin' at me funny bone.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:09 PM ^
"If you can't laugh at yourself, laugh at Notre Dame"'
November 21st, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
November 21st, 2010 at 8:06 PM ^
One of the teams that beat ND?
Edit: Late again!
November 21st, 2010 at 8:08 PM ^
is the team that beat ND. Sorry, one of the teams that beat ND in South Bend. So, I'd say that makes UM pretty sucky, but less sucky than ND. Oh, how the might hath fallen...
November 21st, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
Who knows though. For months now, everyone's been saying Hayes was rock solid to ND.
ND people have any idea what happened?
November 21st, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
Makes sense if he was thinking about decommitting for him to look at Tenn. I would be surprised that he would want to come here with Dee here already.
Irish-have you heard anything else on Hayes
November 21st, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
It's okay, we have Dee Hart and yes we do like to use more than one back, so we could use him, but I am looking forward to the Hopkins/shoelace/hart show. Unless they turn him in to a reciever like they did with Terrance Robinson, but I dont think that will happen. It is our destiny to have another Hart at running back.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:34 PM ^
A 5* back and a 4*, yes please!!
November 21st, 2010 at 7:36 PM ^
..Let's let Dee get his fifth star before we start calling him...you know.. a five star
November 21st, 2010 at 9:12 PM ^
6.0 back!
November 21st, 2010 at 7:39 PM ^
Honestly I think I prefer Rawls (assuming he's qualified). Unless Hayes can play CB/S I'm not interested. Bigger fish to fry...
November 21st, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
I mean, we've heard that before.
<br>Finally, maybe some Justice for RR.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
Have you actually watched them play, or are you basing this on their little Rivals highlight clips?
November 21st, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
We'll take him!
November 21st, 2010 at 7:47 PM ^
Of course, we can't jump to conclusions just yet. But if Hayes comes to AA, could we still take Nealy at the slot and then a WR? I really think Sousa's spot will be filled by a non-QB.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
As it stands now, Kevin Sousa is occupying Kevin Sousa's spot. Unless something changes, that spot is reserved for him
November 21st, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
He's visiting other schools right now--Louisville, Wake, etc. I think it's ok to speculate about his status. DG- I know you know your stuff-- why the reaction to my Sousa comment? I respect your views on the matter.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
But what I meant by "something happen" is a decommitment. Speculation's cool, but I'm not going to take part until I know he's not part of the class. A lot of people are talking about him like he's already parted ways with the coaching staff, I still think there's a great shot he signs with Michigan.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
I don't think Hayes is going to play slot. But if the class size remains what it is now, I don't think Michigan could take Hart AND Hayes AND Nealy.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:47 PM ^
I don't really care about Hayes. I want Watkins, Zettell, Frost, Jernigan, a couple O-linemen, and some DBs
