after getting trounced by ND ... and after getting whacked at home by TCU. Probably all the PAC10 coaches and writers are propping them up for next year.
Go Blue !

Utah shouldn't be in the top 40 after the last 2 weeks.
And I can't believe Wisky is #5, and still gameday is in...chicago.
November 14th, 2010 at 1:36 PM ^
Utah? Seriously? Does anyone even look at the results or do they just vote based on a team's record?
November 14th, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
Well, Utah did beat:
- 5-4 Pitt in OT
- 2-8 UNLV
- 1-9 New Mexico
- 1-9 San Jose St.
- 5-6 Iowa St.
- 2-9 Wyoming
- 3-8 Colorado St.
- 7-4 Air Force
That's a 26-59 combined record for their opponents that they have beaten thus far this season and two (!) of those teams will make it to a bowl game (Pitt and Air Force), so clearly they deserve to be ranked.
/sarcasm
Note: I don't think UM should be ranked either, but it is pretty sad that Utah is ranked when you look at the teams they have beaten.

I'll tell you what, that 2-9 Wyoming team is about 3 or 4 year away from being decent. Okay, maybe 5 years. Utah surely got bonus points for beating a team this close (holds fingers an inch apart) to being decent.

What's with USC at 20 in the AP and not even receiving a vote in the coaches?
November 14th, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
They aren't in the Coaches poll because they are on post season ban.
November 14th, 2010 at 1:43 PM ^
Coaches have been told to exclude USC this year. AP voters are often dumb but they're not dumb enough to pretend that a team simply doesn't exist.
November 14th, 2010 at 1:43 PM ^
A win over a #5 Wisky team at home would be HUGE
November 14th, 2010 at 1:48 PM ^
Highest ranked Big East team is Syracuse with 13 votes? What a pathetic conference.
November 14th, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
The Delaware vote...did the voter think he was voting for UM what with the winged helmets for both teams?
November 14th, 2010 at 2:06 PM ^
C'mon, Delaware waxed that fellow Patriot conference member UMass. That counts for a lot. Or something.
November 14th, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
They lost a FCS game to William and Mary. If they were undefeated I could see a vote or two but not with a loss.
November 14th, 2010 at 2:06 PM ^
It's good we're 7-3, but wins over Illinois and Purdue aren't exactly top 25-worthy. Now, we win one of the last 2, we should be ranked somewhere I think.
Utah being ranked befuddles me. It's not that they lost 2 in a row, it's that the 2 losses were both blowouts, and one of the blowouts was to unranked now 5-5 Notre Dame!
November 14th, 2010 at 2:14 PM ^
why does delaware get a vote they are an fcs team?
November 14th, 2010 at 2:16 PM ^
AP is non-BCS open to all of Division I. App State was almost ranked #25 after beating Michigan. The AP is the only voting poll that allows it. Sagarin ratings also include the FCS, but isn't a voting poll.
The same guy has voted Delaware 2 weeks in a row, apparently after they beat James Madison, the team that beat Virginia Tech.
November 14th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
At least voters realized that Utah should be voted down and we don't see ND suddenly making an appearance. They both are atrocious in my book.
November 14th, 2010 at 7:14 PM ^
Why would you have Sparty in our colors? You want that hideous mascot to look like he's representing us?
November 14th, 2010 at 6:56 PM ^
I hope otherwise, but doubt we'll be this high after the next two Saturdays...
November 14th, 2010 at 7:09 PM ^
Do Boise and TCU just switch every week?
November 14th, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
both have the same quality wins in Oregon State so that's a wash. BSU has better quality win in VT than Utah. VT win has looked better and better as the season goes on and may end up ranked in the top 10. Boise State will face Nevada and Fresno State, both will be tough games for BSU and if they beat them soundly and either Auburn or Oregon stumble with a loss, BSU will be in the national championship game.

Delaware should be #1 in the FCS polls this week, but its still a joke that Ratto votes them with his AP ballot. Just shows that quite a few AP voters don't take it seriously.
