Best of luck to Sean at BC. I imagine we may have gotten wind of this before we offered Morgan.
Tom, any thoughts on how our recent play will affect recruiting? Let's be honest, every week our coaches becomes less secure. I will guess to say that commitments will be tough to collect at the moment.

This is the exact thing I woke up thinking about this morning . . . how will this 3rd loss affect recruiting??? I calmed down overnight - the team is still 5-3 and in contention for a bowl, plus a win over Ohio State (no matter how unlikely) would be monsterous. But Michigan has several big-time recruits that are "holding out" to see how the season progresses and I'm starting to worry as the weeks pass. Having to start over with a new head coach with new recruits like we did 3 years ago will be tragic in my book.

Good luck to the young man. Hope we have others lined up to build up the D for next year

..That no underclassmen besides MRob/Mike Jones get playing time at linebacker next year.

Kovacs blitzed a bunch and got stood up or chopped down by the full back almost every time.
Not entirely his fault, but he wasn't getting to the QB.

but there comes a point when figuring out whose "fault" it is, is both counterproductive and irrelevant. We could probably still analyze what went wrong with the Charlie Weiss defense. But bottom line, it didn't work.

This is incredibly disappointing because he and I have the same name

...we just may be able to recruit others with this unique moniker...

We have the same first and last name

You are now the second person that I know in real life who I have discovered on mgoblog.

I was wondering if Michigan's relationship with Duggan was what triggered the Desmond Morgan offer. The timing of the two things might be more than coincidental.

Your new "tactic" kinda helped. Definitely A for effort.

Yeah I figured when Morgan got his offer it was because the staff knew that we weren't going to get one of our "A" plan guys.

Would have been nice to have him.

thanks for the update, seems like a trade off if Michigan can land Frost/Morgan combo.

Hope he does well at the next level. Wish him all the best. Great kid.

But I like Morgan better for that spot anyway. The fact that he plays qb suggests a lot and he seems more athletic and fluid than Duggan. Lastly, he is from Michigan and grew up a Michigan fan, those things are important for future recruiting and relationships with local schools

Morgan did not play LB during the game of his that I attended this year, but as a quarterback, he consistently was able to hit the crease and gain at least five yards. Very decisive and strong, even if he isn't incredibly fast (although he did not have any long runs to see his straight-line speed). The defense he played against was less than spectacular, but he was very quick and agile between the tackles and had the acceleration to turn the corner. Also of note: he wasn't tackled backwards once, except for a sack. He always laid the hit onto the defender and seemingly (and frustratingly, it was our Homecoming) always fell forward for a few yards.

Good luck to Sean, he had nothing but good things to say about Rich Rod and Michigan
