Yes.
Wayne Lyons also doesn't know how to tie his shoes and uses Velcro instead.
It's a small, small world.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:36 AM ^
don't know what his SAT score is, but if he can't tie his shoes, maybe he is not michigan material
October 25th, 2010 at 1:10 PM ^
I'm hoping this is sarcasm because his GPA is around 4.5 at least
October 25th, 2010 at 11:21 PM ^
Actually Denard tought Lyons how to Dougie . And now they will have a bond for the rest of their lives.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:24 AM ^
They met in an online music opinion forum about "Kate Bush: Cloudbusting" years ago. They have kept in contact ever since.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:30 AM ^
The connection is that they'll both be playing for Michigan next year.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:38 AM ^
They'll both be dominating for Michigan next year.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:57 AM ^
I like the way you think, but honestly I would take dominating from Denard and showing up with reasonably competent playing skills from Lyons.
October 25th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
but I still got the back of "Big Play Ray"
October 25th, 2010 at 11:40 AM ^
They both appear in this thread. That's all I got.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:42 AM ^
I thought they had a rainbow connection
October 25th, 2010 at 12:09 PM ^
Why are there so many...threads about safeties...and who's likely to commit?
October 25th, 2010 at 12:33 PM ^
"desperation," "wishful thinking," and "looking for reasons to go on living" into a hat and choose one. There's your winner.
October 25th, 2010 at 1:29 PM ^
but my stupid brain couldn't resist singing your post in my head and now that dang song is wedged in there - probably for the rest of the week! Curse you, rainbows and all your connecting!
October 25th, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
Yeah that post was horrible...sorry
October 25th, 2010 at 11:45 AM ^
Does Lyons kneel and pray after he scores? Otherwise I got nothing.
October 25th, 2010 at 12:28 PM ^
I see what you did. And FTR, I have not made any references to the same for some time. Nor am I looking for such connections under every rock. Kthx.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:46 AM ^
Honestly, Lyons would be as big of a pick-up as HaHa or Karlos Williams, realistically. I know we get all GaGa over that 5th star, but a top 100 player is a big deal either way.
If we could pick up Lyons, Walls and Crawford, we will have a great secondary in not very long.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:52 AM ^
I think I remember reading once on scout that Lyons high school coach used to coach at Deerfeild beach when Denard played there.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:53 AM ^
They are both from Broward County, Deerfield plays(played) Dillard where Lyons goes. They have played eachother in the past and both keep in contact
October 25th, 2010 at 12:29 PM ^
A simple straight answer, which is all I wanted.
October 25th, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
Really Stephen?
October 25th, 2010 at 2:58 PM ^
I have generally put my personal interests to rest, as far as posting on this board.
October 25th, 2010 at 12:51 PM ^
No prob Bob....or Stephen
October 25th, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
Sure, anybody can come in here with real information. Do you know how much harder those above you had to work at clever jokes?
October 25th, 2010 at 11:56 AM ^
Same hometown.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
I am a bit worried about Walls. The kid was recruiting Drew for us and looked like he was going to commit. Then Lyons came back in to the picture, I thought he eliminated us. Not an expert, but is there a major difference between Walls and Lyons. Maybe Walls is rethinking things. I wonder if Drew is still coming for a visit. Recruiting is so much fun, it's like a drama show with all the twist and turns.
October 25th, 2010 at 10:08 PM ^
On Wall's FB, his profile picture has him wearing an Oregon jersey. Take that for whatever you want, i still think he is interested in U of M.
October 25th, 2010 at 10:55 PM ^
Thanks. We should lock Walls down and worry about Clinton-Dix and Williams afterwards. These guys are committed elsewhere while Walls was strong for us. Oregon and their Nike green magic starts to worry me these days.
October 26th, 2010 at 12:00 AM ^
Agreed! I hope we lock some safety talent up soon.
October 25th, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
They're both from Deerfield Beach, FL.
In other news, looks like Fred Jackson's description of Denard to recruits is now being used by Comcast.

His [Denard's] style of play has attracted attention from across the country, and recruits in his native South Florida are especially aware of Shoelace's exploits this fall. Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard safety Wayne Lyons is one of those recruits.
Lyons, the No. 4 safety prospect in the nation, knew Robinson from his days at Deerfield Beach High School and has kept up with him since he made the move to Michigan.
"I'm proud of him and he's representing our town," Lyons said. "He said Michigan is nice and I said I'd take a visit and give them a shot."

Thanks, although I expect your response (which is what I was looking for) may be other the line for pay content.
October 25th, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
I think that's about as much as you can post and be OK. I haven't been dinged in the past, but will gladly alter the post if the mods think it's too much premium content (or they obviously can, too).
Usually the issue lies in providing some information, but then not giving a link to the content itself.
October 25th, 2010 at 2:59 PM ^
That's good to know.
