UM vs MSU 2010 Game Predictions (or Opportunities for you to look silly on Saturday)
Random Game Predictions Go Here:
I predict that as the game wears on, MSU will commit more and more guys to the line trying to stop Denard, resulting in either Roy Roundtree or Junior Hemingway putting on a show to be titled, "2004, a retrospective" in the fourth quarter. This will result in Braylon Edwards making an appearance on Sports Center to announce that Michigan has found a "Worthy Successor". My money is on Hemingway, though I don't know why.

- Michigan wins by the score of 38 - 24.
- Yes, thats right, we kick a field goal...and it counts.
- Denard passes for his first 300 yard game and still rushes for over 100 yards.
- Michigan is +2 turnover margin.

So I'll just accept my fate:
MSU 45 UM 42
Denard does not play the entire game. MSU gets at least one long KO or punt return. Bell, Caper, and Baker combine for 200+ yds rushing with three runs of more than 40 yards. Sparty TEs have a field day. Gerg rushes 3 DLs all day, so we put minimal pressure on Cousins, who throws a pick anyhow. Refs continue to ignore holding on MM, leading to a Jim Brandstatter melt-down on-air. MSU converts 3rd downs all day, leading to another large TOP differential. We miss a critical field goal in the waning minutes of the game. Spartoons set half of East Lansing on fire. National Guard called out. Half of MSU squad arrested on Sunday for kidnapping Mary Sue Coleman and duct-taping her to the Sparty statue on EL's campus. Michael Rosenberg pronounces Mark Dantonio to be the love child of Mother Theresa and Duffy Daugherty.

all these M fans predicting for Sparty? That won't make it any easier to swallow if it happens, you know.

1. What's the point of a post soliciting predictions if everybody toes the company line and predicts a UM rout? If you want just UM happy slappy talk, say so up front.
2. Are you saying that a Spartan victory is on the same order of improbability as a Bowling Green victory?
3. It doesn't appear to me that there are "all" that many M fans predicting an MSU win here anyhow.

that you shouldn't feel that way and certainly not that you shouldn't post what you feel. I'm just trying to figure out the mentality, there.

I am a MSU fan...and I really enjoyed that commentary. Thanks!
And, btw, you were the first to predict a MSU victory...I think it can go either way, but obviously am leaning towards MSU since they are more balanced (and I am a homer).
Can't wait to watch it, either way. I will be there, so take it easy on me!

Plays sloppy with a lot of penalties and cheap shots. UM Front 3/4 go into pure blinding "Hulk Smash" rage and get to Cousins and stopping the run causing short passing, this in turns causes a pick 6, later a fumble return were Cousin gets hurt standing on the train tracks.
This causes MSU to go into full panic mode and the big plays off missed tackles on MSU D starts the beat down.
UM 49 MSU 17.

Chicken Dinner. Finally, someone get it right! MSU's heading into a hornet's nest this weekend. Won't be close...at all...not even....no way.

Homer. Take off the blinders.
UM might win, but there is no way it is a blowout.

35-33 UM, the difference is scoring the red zone. We force just enough FG's to outweigh the fact that they get more defensive stops in total.

Johnny Adams will be the biggest asshat on the field. Win or lose, he will perform at minimum three celebrations which could be considered excessive or unnecessary during the course of the game.

I think this will start out a lot like the UConn game. The D comes out early and forces some surprisingly quick three and outs which we will cash in on immediately. I believe RR has a few tricks up his sleeve, and we will some plays that will make us exclaim "Holy shit!" with glee, and Sparty say the same with despair. Denard solidifies his grip on the Heisman by throwing for over 300 and running for over 100. The 100 comes not from the MSU D *giggle/snort* keying in on him, it's from him having too much fun hitting the slot ninjas and handing off the ball for nice gains. I think we will be up 21-7 at one point to when Sparty tries to make it a game heading in to the locker rooms at halftime. All hell breaks loose as both offenses engage in a shootout which Michigan wins 45-35. Vincent Smith will have a big game, running for 100+ and scores the final nail in the coffin. BTW, the sit down and shut up crowd needs to either participate or stay at home, because the crowd needs to be the 12th man in this one.

michigan over state in a route...56-13

Now that I live in the land of "Nick Saban is god" I predict a reprise of my first encounter with him back in 1996.
I went to the Alabama-Florida game last weekend and it was my first Saban game since then, therefore I'm feeling the vibe on this one.

But my brain is telling me that MSU wins 38-28.
Saturday can't get here soon enough.

Michigan 42, MSU 24
And if Sparty pulls off the upset I'm going to fire the MSU alum who mows my lawn.

The upset? You are delusional.

The D steps up.

Spartans have at least 4 false starts due to crowd noise, which puts them off schedule on running downs and we pick Cousins 3 times. Defense more than does their job, stuffing the run early and after Denard leads Michigan to a 21 nothing lead we trade touchdowns for a 42-21 win. No late heroics needed, thank God, my heart needs a rest.

Tate throws a TD pass to Denard in a bit of trickeration. My Sparty brother finally shuts his mouth.

Also predict another 200 - 200 game for Denard, except this time, DRob completes a dagger long bomb. Predict two Michigan interceptions of Cousins. Predict our weak point is not the secondary, but linebackers getting gashed for yards on the ground.
