Purdue QB Marve Latest Boilermaker to Tear ACL
Most likely done for the season.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:45 PM ^
So QB, best RB, and best WR all out with major injuries? Damn man...karma is a bitch for Hope.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
Maybe it is time to shave that ugly ass inch worm off his lip.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:56 PM ^
along with the moustache.
September 26th, 2010 at 4:21 PM ^
seemed like he called Marve out in his post game presser before he knew it was a tear
September 25th, 2010 at 10:47 PM ^
Ouch, too bad for Marve.
Purdue is going to be awful. Like epic Michigan 2008 awful.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
That would imply they aren't already. Big 10 Game of Fail for the year?
Sat, Oct 16, 11 AM, Minnesota at Purdue. Ouch.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:21 PM ^
Marve was way better than anyone Michigan could have trotted out in 2008. There's bad, then there's 2008 bad.
I really, really feel for the poor BTN announcers that get that game. Boy, random QB, might have a 1/4 TD/INT ratio, but he's tough! Ugh.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
will fall off.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
need to fall off along with his moustache. I'm still pissed about that stupid comment he made to RR after last year's M/Purdue game. RR will run up the score on him this because of that stupid comment.
September 26th, 2010 at 12:38 AM ^
I'm not sure what comment you are referring to. Could you explain?
September 26th, 2010 at 1:01 AM ^
And you'll hear a lot more about it in 6 weeks. (It's all about IU now.) But you can get yourself up to speed here.
For the nonce, suffice it to say, Danny Hope Is An Asshole.
September 26th, 2010 at 1:07 AM ^
Thanks for giving me the link
September 26th, 2010 at 11:15 AM ^
Normally, I am a fan of being a gracious winner and exercising restraint (e.g. not running up the score), but I would LOVE to see UM take both Purdue and MSU behind the woodshed this season.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
You gotta feel for the guy though. He's just getting back from another ACL injury.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
I do feel bad for Marve, just not for Hope.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:10 PM ^
...this is too bad for Robert Marve...
Why is it that Danny Hope's ACL wasn't damaged? That would have been better.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:14 PM ^
Boom. Crutches'd.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:51 PM ^
I normally feel bad for these guys but there is just something I hate about Marve and Purdue. Maybe it is Hope, maybe it is just the fact that I go there but have zero school pride. I constantly just wear my Michigan gear around campus and don't feel bad about it at all.
September 26th, 2010 at 12:13 AM ^
Don't feel bad. I did the same thing for four years at Purdue. I was there during the Kyle Orton years and Gene Keady's final four seasons. We had one good season in both football and men's basketball. School pride outside of beating up on the hoosiers and irish is pathetic on campus.
September 26th, 2010 at 12:15 AM ^
I also wear my Michigan gear around campus at Purdue... No one seems to care (kinda pathetic)... I haven't been able to muster the courage to wear Michigan on Friday mornings as I am in a group with one of Purdue's starters up front... Idk how that would go :/ (Not saying I'll bitch out).... Good to hear that there are others around here doing the same thing though!
September 26th, 2010 at 6:32 AM ^
Yeah, no one ever says anything to me neither. We'll see come basketball season, at least Purdue can do something right.
September 26th, 2010 at 9:59 AM ^
at least you guys have good basketball. I don't think any of our sports were good when I was there. The men's and women's basketball teams both got to the elite eight when I was there. When I didn't have class projects or driving down south to S. Caroline to see my now wife, I was going up north to Ann Arbor to watch michigan football and hockey.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
They should pour some snake-oil on the knee
September 25th, 2010 at 10:59 PM ^
Marve- he had to sit out after he was at Miami (THE U), plus Marve had a prior ACL injury....
and a loss to Toledo makes it even worse.....
Boy I can't wait for November 13th to beat them down in all phases of the game... and I will enjoy all 60 minutes of that game
September 25th, 2010 at 11:12 PM ^
Even special teams?
September 25th, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
I want Rodriguez to run the score up so high when we play them. I was invited to that game, and it's looking more and more like I'm going to have to make the trip.
Sucks for Marve though. Hope he's able to recover fully.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:06 PM ^
I'd like to see a Bo on Mike White/Illinois-style beatdown of Hope/Purdue.
70-21 would be fine. 69-13 would also be acceptable.
September 26th, 2010 at 3:23 PM ^
Perhaps we could get to 100. I sure Hope we do :)
September 25th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
fuckin' hope selfishly playing his best player at QB just to run him into the ground to save his job. that's what they get for relying so much on one player.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
I get it. Don't really think it's funny.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
I hope that he has a quick recovery. Having had this injury previously should help him with his rehab and working schedule even though it sucks.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:29 PM ^
Hope is not lost.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:33 PM ^
can a purdue alum get a boiler up here?...
oh well, I was nervous about the purdue game until today. Rich rod is going to open up a huge can of woop ass on the Grey's Anatomy shooter clone.
September 26th, 2010 at 12:29 AM ^
They have beaten us 2 years in a row......not good
Their chump of a coach pulls a sophmoric stunt last year to show up Rich Rod.....not good
Purdue's rushing defense is one of the worst in college football.....not good (for them)
They have now felt the wrath of their Angry Hating God of ACLs...not good (for them)
I am not a fortune teller (nor The Knowledge!), but I have a feeling that a few rushing records will be going down on 11/13
And being the sadistic bastard that I am, I will enjoy the beat down we will administer....
September 26th, 2010 at 12:47 AM ^
Feel bad for marve and the team with all the injuries.. but it's gonna feel ooo soo good when we shit all over danny fuckin hope's gay ass on their home field
September 26th, 2010 at 1:55 AM ^
I hope that Marve can take a medical redshirt, but more than that I hope he recovers fully.
September 26th, 2010 at 7:04 AM ^
Hope said after last year's game "Boilermakers never give up!"
We need to put so many points on them that they will seriously think about it......
September 26th, 2010 at 10:16 AM ^
Hope is from the same school of dipshit coaching as Tim Brewster. It's the "sincere promises to improve and personally accepting all responsibility for bad losses is a suitable substitute for good coaching" school.
September 26th, 2010 at 10:28 AM ^
We're talking about a year of constant rehab after which he still won't trust his knee fully. I'm getting over surgery right now -- icing the knee as I type this -- and it's not terrible but it's not fun, either.
I don't feel bad for Hope, though. Screw that guy.
September 26th, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
for the backups? As bad as I hope they are?
