always makes me smile. My wife is the daughter of a very proud ND alum. This was her first game at the Big House and it brought her over from the darkside to actually root for my (our) beloved team. She was amazed by the passion (and I think the tailgating probably helped!).

Was she that hot blonde they kept showing?
August 19th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
She is the hot girl they didn't show. I believe thats the correct answer to provide. She actually wore Michigan gear to the game, I would not alllow ay ND gear in the vehicle.

Watching Minor on that first TD drive might be my favorite part of 2009. God damn I wish he could have been healthy for a full year.

I thought TV was supposed to add 10 lbs, but in the case of Charlie Weis (miss ya) it appears to have added 25 or so

More cameras. More added weight.
It's science.

Watching Stonum return that kickoff brings hope!

Sounds like Stonum's having a great camp. Everytime I think about that stiff arm vs. Sparty I get chills. It's not imperative that he steps up, but man would it be nice if he bacame a legitimate deep threat.

stonum with a kickoff return ... man that was sweet, stadium was going straight bonkers

how he just escapes everyone. Once he breaks that gap zoom he's gone. Tate's touchdown run is epic too when he fakes it and runs up the middle! This game had me running around my house screaming in joy when we won. God I can't wait for this season to start!

How confident are you in Jimmy Howard this year?
August 19th, 2010 at 9:52 PM ^
gives me hope for this year. If our offense can play well, we will be in every game. Always been a glass half full guy.

Man Cissoko was terrible.
August 19th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
And turner was worse than him because he didn't even see the field. Cross those two guys off the list of guys that would have helped us had they still been on the team....
In a very odd way, watching how bad Cissoko was makes me feel better about this year.
August 19th, 2010 at 9:54 PM ^
I hope we win again.
August 19th, 2010 at 10:02 PM ^
The way things have been going lately... It would be quite telling if we were to pull the last second upset once again.

endzone that got reversed I honestly thought he was in bounds but the other angle looked completely different with his foot just slightly on the line. You could tell by Weis's stare he was saying in his mind "what the hell?"
August 19th, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
it seems like that game was played years ago.
August 20th, 2010 at 7:56 AM ^
I forgot about Cissoko getting embarrassed last year until I watched that game and saw it happen again. One of my favorite plays is DW's pass break up on a long ball to golden tate, if only he had stayed he could have done big things for this defense.

is it me or was there more piped in music for this game than any other all year?
August 19th, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
A million times. And two things always strike me:
1. Just before the U-M touchdown to take the lead back, the camera has a tight shot of RR. The intensity in his eyes tells me everything I need to know about the man. He is Our Coach, and damn, damn good one.
2. How emotional I get seeing Matthews make that catch. I still get choked up.
I love that team.

The other thing about this game is that although everyone talks about how our secondary got picked apart, ND had elite level players across the board in the passing game. Clausen was a first round pick and so was Golden Tate. Floyd is IMO better than Tate and Kyle Rudolph will be a first round pick TE. And we were playing a freshman CB playing in his second college game in Cissoko. My mom could scheme out successful pass plays with that talent.
August 19th, 2010 at 11:47 PM ^
were both second round picks. FYI

And yet Weis still found a way to lose. Fade, Fade, Fade, rely on defense run by committee, lose. So long Charlie.
