Agreed, the video is great, but I don't think that's anything different from how other Strength coaches carry themselves. I will agree with the OP, the video production is awesome. I feel like the football teams twitter/instagram accounts have been pumping these videos/pics out the past couple days to show off the new weight room.

Tolbert looked like he would rip your head off or ream you a new ahole100% of the time. I've met Herbert once when he was with a group at the PSU wrestling match and he was all smiles, cordial and having a good time with the players. I'm not sure Mr. Tolbert would smile with his grandma.

I have seen (and coached with) many. It is however their business to push athletes and to be enthusiastic, energetic, and in most cases loud, at least during sessions. It's much harder to motivate someone quietly and slowly. And, I think particularly when it comes to FBS football, those coaches only work with football and hence are hired by the head football coach, which means that often times themselves are former football players and are comfortable with the football atmosphere that usually involves a loud energetic coaching. The culture of Alabama football coaching/workouts is probably quite different from that of the soccer team for example even though both have division one strength coaches. Soccer players don't tend to have the same loud, intensity of coaching and workouts in their culture as football players do. Football and hockey tend to be this way whereas many other sports are less so inclined, maybe because they are less violent.

I've been around strength coaches who all train as a staff together at a certain time every day and I've been around others who simply don't have the time to lfit themselves at all because they are at work from 5am - 8pm everyday and are just exhausted by the time they are done coaching. To give you a few examples, when I was at UMaine with Dan Nichol, who is now Minnesota's strength coach under PJ Fleck they never lifted because there was no time. When I was at Quinnipiac with Brijesh Patel, the entire staff lifted every day after we got done coaching the hockey workout around 10 am and we were required to do the hockey program to help make us better at coaching it and understanding what we were asking the players to go through.
I think the whole bald, muscular, white guy thing is probably more of a cultural look than anything else. Just like if you're a biker you probably wear leather jackets, jeans, and have facial hair. I doubt it has anything to do with drug use. But, everyone is different. Dan at UMaine was a big white guy and former football player and had a big loud booming voice. Brijesh was from India and was a guy who was still outgoing and loud, but was a very small guy and very well spoken and like to smile and joke around. I've work with/for and been around a number of different college S&C coaches at various divisions and I've never seen a single one do any sort of drug, recreational or performance enhancing, other than things normal things like caffeine or ibuprofin.

Anyone else think this was going to be an old video of Herbert talking about taking steroids? Thankfully that was not the case and it was just a nice one minute montage. Whew. Nice click bait title, OP! You got me!
Time to work, WITH SOME JUICE!

The last line of the movie was cheesy though. Other than that, it was a pretty watchable movie.

But combining S&C with "juice" sounds very MSU-like.

I'm offended at how out of touch you think I might be. I've been meme'ing before you were in high school.

I see a clip like that of Don Brown and I immediately think of how boring Tim Drevno is. Brown is inspiring, you don't even have to see video, you can read an interview and feel pumped. Drevno is uninspiring.

Lets hope it leads to wins. None of this other shit matters. And to be honest, we have lagged in strength and conditioning nationally compared to the elite for so long that it is all just hype at this point.

Don Brown should scream "THEY NEED TO FEEL YOU" to Drevno and Hamilton.

but given all the insane hype over the last 10 seasons about EeeeeBarwis and his pet wolves and Aaron Wellman and his Navy Seal beach workouts and the glowering presence of Tolbert, one measly victory over OSU and two over MSU are more than a little disappointing.
None of this is Herbert's fault obviously, but for the time being I'll take a wait and see approach. I'll jump on the hype train after multiple victories over the Buckeyes and MSU.
