Has anyone here been to Outback since the bowl announcement?

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

I have a tradition of doing things that involve the bowl that we're in's namesake.

Two years ago it was Buffalo Wild Wings for the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Eve, and this year I made reservations at Outback.

I saw a decent amount of Michigan fans there. Anyone been inspired to go?

They just opened a new one in West Lansing. Better atmosphere but food still mediocre and drinks overpriced.

Went there last night with the in-laws and were told there would be a 5 minute wait for our table of 6. Mind you, I prefer to cook my own steaks and don't usually find out at chain restaurants. Anyway, 3 other groups of the same size came in after us and were seated ahead of us. Each time a different host/hostess apologized for the confusion. After the third time I made a scene and left. We agreed a nice meal in a different restaurant across the street. Fucking incompetence. I hate eating out because this kinda shit happens more and more often at the run of the mill places. Plus the food usually sucks. Cool story Bro.

I thought I didn't have one until I went to school at UM and was called out for it immediately. However, strongest accent I have ever heard was from another recruit in basic training from southern Ohio. Holy shit it was thick. Still can't wrap my head around the fact he wasn't from south of the Mason Dixon

If I'm going to spend money on steak, I'd much rather pay extra to go somewhere good and quality. If I wanted to eat something quick and cheap, I'll get a steak burrito from the mexican place down the street lmao.

I went a few days ago for the first time in probably 5 years. Family wanted to go, nothing to do with the bowl game. Food was awful, won’t be back for at least another 5 years.

Meh, over priced and under delivered. If I'm on the mood for that kind of place I'll go to Logan's. It's also not great by any means, but with a coupon my fiancee and I can get steak dinners and our bill comes in under $20. If I'm gonna pony up for a nicer cut of steak it's not gonna be from a chain restaurant.

Sorry, but you're all full of shit saying "never eat at chain restaurants, but..." I get it. That's the cool thing to say. Congrats. But, in reality, if you were blindfolded and presented with the food you would likely eat it and enjoy it.

WD - you didn’t make a reservation, you did call ahead seating.

My first job was at Outback when I was 16 - my first day of work was the first day of summer after freshman year. My last serving shift was the day I️ graduated from UC.
