Star Wars doesn't have a gay agenda, the people making it might. Ok they definitely do.
December 15th, 2017 at 11:11 AM ^
I think the gay agenda goes something like this:
- Be gay
- Drink straight tears
- ???
- Profit

of the film got stuck. and really we aren't so much into flying space thingies, in the UP. although, if the green bay packers had a space ship, well, that'd probably get a lot of interest, eh?

Huge Star Wars fan. 6/10 on the first viewing.
I'm seeing it tomorrow in RealD, which should add a bit.
Some things are jaw droppingly cool and unexpected. Others are... questionable.

Just saw it.
It is awesome. No questions, hands-down, great film. Haven't felt that way walking out of a theater since Mad Max: Fury Road. Totally amped. 10/10.
I can't imagine anyone disliking this movie or coming away from it unimpressed - unless that person has come down with a severe case of hipsterism. Dilly dilly, my friends.

since MM Fury Road was a load of crap, I now have low expectations.

Why do you say that ? I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and Disney buying LucasFilm is one of the happiest momemnts of my entertainment life. I love what Kathleen Kennedy has done. And I love what Bob Iger has done in the parks as well.

"Disney flat out ruined the franchise." You think the prequels were awesome? Seriously??

100% yes. Actually 150% yes, because it not only differs from the formulaic predictability, it completely plays on it. Stick with it and you'll see.

How about this: white and red is the new white and black? That white and red, it's salty.
Or how about Hux, thanks to writer Rian Johnson, laying down some amazing, Joss Whedon-level diction and wordplay with his use of "obliterate" when talking about a Resistance starship?
It's a serious movie, an artful movie, and a very thoughtful movie.

Disney has trashed SW. The stuff that takes places in TLJ has literally rendered the first-six SW movies meaningless. Disney is wandering in the woods with the new SW movies.
Lucas wrote awful dialog and directed awful acting for the prequels, but at least the plot and story of the prequels felt like Star Wars. Lucas kept his universe together, and stayed true to his characters. TFA and especially TLJ dont feel like Star Wars movies. Disney has wrecked all the OT characters. TFA and TLJ are just trash space-opera flicks. Neither are SW films. Lucas was creating a mythology: Disney threw that out the window. Lucas gave us a morality play of light vs dark and why each existed: Disney simply doesnt want to bother with that kind of depth. Lucas made characters which would last generations. Is there a SW character Disney has created which anyone will remember 50 years from now?
Star Wars is over...well at least it should be (and I use to be a FANATICAL SW fan.) Dont see The last Jedi. Save your money.

Easy to see why it's so hyped, the Disney machine wants to make back their investment. They've gone so far as to strong-arm theaters to extend the movie lease and show it on their biggest screens for the duration. Unprescedented, but Disney can get away with it.

I mean, I don't want to give spoilers, but you know why, right?
Like I was alluding to elsewhere in this thread, red-and-white is the new black-and-white. The whole salty thing - I loved the use of colors as symbols in this movie.

I am looking forward to it. No matter what, I doubt I am going to be "Angry"!
Some of them have been better than others, but I have enjoyed them all. They are all fun to watch, and Good triumphs over Evil more often than 1 time in 14 years.

Lucas was about good vs. evil but with Disney they're going 'Gray' FWIW.
