Huskers lose top recruit
Nebraska loses 4th 2018 recruit and #36 in ESPN 300. Guess this guy does not want Scott Frost as his HC.
It is amazing what coaching chages will do to a program.

Still, negs come with the territory, and I don't plan to compromise my Michigan, and MGOBlog values. But, I cannot speak for others.
Edit: It's only a few down votes, not like its bolivia

Crazy to think that at one point Mike Riley had Nebraska's recruiting class in the top-10 of the country and around 3rd/4th in the B1G.
Since then they have lost 7 top-350 recruits, the class has plummented into the 90s, and round out the bottom of the B1G. Not completely unexpected since Scott Frost didn't retain a single coach from Riley's staff, but I would have thought some of these de-commits from the offensive side would want to stick around and see what they can do in Frost's offense.
Edit: I was curious on where Nebraksa's recruiting class would have been if Riley/Frost could have retained all those players. 247Composite would have Nebraska's point total at 231.96, which would have been good enough for 11th in the country, and 3rd in the B1G behind Ohio State (300.50) and Penn State (259.03).

Side Note: I was reading a bit about Jay Harbaugh. I hadn't known he mentored for awhile with Riley at Oregon State and that Riley has such a connection with the Harbaughs going back to Jack.

Yep. A fairly well known story (I thought)... Jay wasn't a good enough player in HS to get a good scholly offer, so he discussed with pops and headed out West (well, further north, believe Jim was at Stanford then) to Oregon St to learn coaching from Riley. So his (Jay's) 4 years of college was spent on the sidelines learning the coaching business. His uncle made him a QC coach for the Ravens, where he excelled for several years before Dad hired him. IMHO, he's done quite well at being a position coach for both the TE and RB groups. But I do believe his next promotion will be at another school. (TE to RB seems like a lateral move to me...)

4-8 and Riley has been a lame duck all year.

He's probably joining his brother at Texas A&M.

I still think Luke Falk will do damage on them. He's better than any of the sucky qbs in the big ten. I don't know what kind of defense WSU has but I assume MSU will score some points on them.

Here's the bigger question: why in the hell would the #36 player in America have ever committed to Mike Riley?
Either way, I'm assuming this has less to do with Nebraska and more to do with other schools going after him hard. He's probably heading off to A&M before this is all said and done. Scott Frost will eventually get his guys.
December 11th, 2017 at 8:25 AM ^
I guess he did not want to just be a blocker for the triple option.
December 11th, 2017 at 9:12 AM ^
Pretty much my thought... Riley's pass happy offense is very different from Frost's run heavy offense.
Nebraska has whip-lashed around since Osborne left. They went from Osborne's triple option to Bill Callahan's West Coast passing business. Then back to a heavy run approach with Pelini. And back to pass-first under Riley. And now they're going all-out triple option again. Make up your minds, Nebraska!!!

He finally realized he was committed to Nebraska.
