Random "Tidbits" and Takeaways
If you've got some 24-hour later snowflakes...have at it.
Really, I've created this thread because the comments are gone from the Harbaugh presser and there are a few "tidbits" in there. Not everyone reads the pressers, so here you go:
- The extra "TE" with the random jersey with no nameplate is Cesar Ruiz. I thought it was JBB for awhile until I saw him on the sideline. They did it a lot with JBB last year.
- Onwenu is a big boy and can't go a full game in that kind of heat - Runyan replaces him to give him a rest...not because he's playing bad.
- Sounds like Kekoa Crawford went out - I didn't see that, I saw he had a cramp in his leg, but Harbaugh is asked about it and he responds like he had something more.
- Also, yes - we've got the #1 defense. Winovich and Bush are also #1 and #2 in the B1G in sacks (6 and 4.5 respectively).
- Harbaugh was getting on O"Korn after Michigan went up 20-10 because he yelled back at the Purdue sideline. You can see it if you look at him when Isaac scores instead of watching Isaac. Purdue's co-OC was O'Korn's old coach and the one who benched him.
- Still no word on Michigan/MSU start time.

it looks fake, like in an action movie. All you need is a fruit stand.

that it goes uncalled while the NFL suspended Vontaze Burfict for that very same play in preseason. It's taught in every level in football for every LB. You're supposed to knock players out of the route within 5 yards of LOS.

Thats a hilarious gif, but it ends up making me mad because i was screaming at the tv during that play asking what the hell Metellus was doing on that play. He just stood there and stared at the line of scrimmage instead of playing contain on the qb rollout.

Metellus or Hudson? Hudson was he guy shadowning him and let him get outside. I think he was looking for the throwback and lost track of contain.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:27 AM ^
Hudson was standing there too, but my guess is Hudson figured Metellus was doing his job on contain so he was staying in the lane he figured the QB would have to come up into

I did the same as well. But I thought I saw a WR or TE in that bunch of humanity he was looking out for in case of a mis-direction. Because they ran about what seemed like a million across the field throws. I could also be completely wrong about that play with JM as well.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:39 AM ^
Metellus thought the back had the ball almost until the tackle. Didn't even check the QB, it seems.

Wow.... I think he broke physics. That guy looked like a video game glitch...

how did that man get up?

On the field, @_Dbush11 has emerged as a dominant presence on a stout defense.

It is really hard to stop watching that. Bet nobody watched it just once.

I have the game on DVR but hadn't noticed this yet. Can anyone please assist in identifying the quarter, perhaps even the drive number or time remaining?

seems to look at the pursuit, then realizes he has an opportunity to turn the receiver into an acrobat, then gets on with the pursuit. Not sure who had the ball for Purdue, but they are likely grateful that stamp was put on #1 instead.

Off Topic, but the people checking their overnight ratings on that 'Quit Smoking' infomercial on Fox Business yesterday are having a HOLY SHIT moment right now.
September 24th, 2017 at 9:53 PM ^
I was thinking about that, too.
Or...who was the person in this country who finds Fox Business just to watch that infomercial? Like where is the guy (or gal) in America who was like "WTF!?! What happened to my infomercial!! What is this football shit?! And why is it in HD!?!"

when the NCAA Tournament is on TruTV and people get so heated why their random court show or Impractical Jokers isn't on.

If we're being honest impractical jokers should always be on somewhere.

Crawford is fine, just cramped really hard. People were scared (and perpetuating a rumor) that it was an achilles but he grabbed his toes and stretched in a way that he would not have were it an achilles tear. He also walked off the field. I've cramped so hard before that I've strained the muscle and limped for a day or two. I'm guessing that's what happened with his calf.

Walking off the field is not something that you do after that. You realize why your calf is so large; you use it all the time.
September 25th, 2017 at 4:59 PM ^
90-degree temps will do that.

Could have been a cramp and he purposely stuck his foot out that way while walking because it wouldnt cramp in that position. I have dealt with plenty of cramps while playing collegiate sports and then as a marathon runner...when they kick in, you will contort your body into all shapes in order to stop cramping.
Worst ever was a simultaneous hamstring and quad cramp in the same leg. If I strecthed out the hammie, then the quad locked up more. If i tried to strecth the quad, the hammie would cramp more. I went with stretching out the hammie first...those f'ing hurt.

I don't understand all of the Crawford injury conspiracy theories. Everything about the injury and the response to it clearly indicated it was a cramp.

Lots of folks, largely the mlive types, want to feel more important than they are, so they make shit up to get attention.

I heard that Crawford and Harbaugh got into a seriously heated debate about who was at fault during the War of 1812. Crawford was so angry at Harbaugh's claims that Britain didn't desire to enter the war that he actually faked an injury on the field to get back
September 24th, 2017 at 11:12 PM ^
September 24th, 2017 at 10:05 PM ^
Harbaugh laughed...
Does that mean 1. Obviously yes, 2. Ummm no. or 3. There's always competition
?

4. I find that question funny.
