Magnus gives dire warning about the running game?
http://touch-the-banner.com/2017-season-countdown-11-chris-evans/
Magnus predicts that Evans will wind up as the team's leading rusher. No problems so far.
BUT, he also predicts that Evans will have WORSE numbers than he did last year (when he had 88 rushes for 614 yards)! Meaning our leading rusher will only have about 600 yards.
Is this an indictment on the offensive line, or is there something else afoot? Either way, hold me.

That certainly does NOT disqualify you from eligiibility for making a comment on mgoblog!

This seems like a perfect post for Touch The Banner.

This could not be said any better, except I want to add "what the hell does Magnus know?" about how it is going to turn out. It may turn out to be by committee; one running back may assert himself to get most of the carries, or maybe two. We do not know.
Magnus is not exactly going out on a limb, this has been the way of the run game for a while, but I suspect JH would like one or two to get most of the carries. Yet they have to earn them.
This team will go as far as our offensive line will take them.

This is stupid and Im not giving it a click
Our running game can not get any worse than what we had last year with slow ass Deveon Smith as our main back. Chris Evans will be a good running back for us this year

it says what I suspected. It will be running back by committee. We could have 3 players all rush for 600+ yards this season and then a bunch of others get another 500 or so combined. It means we have a lot of talent back there and not one guy will be expected to carry the load.

its because of the eclipse, right?

I predict that Evans will rush for 1,000 yds. It could be slightly less but definitely close. Higdon around 700 and Isaac around 600. The hammering Panda will blast through on short yardage plays and rack up TD's like he did last year. The runners will be punishing. My only question marks will be, whether or not, with Wheatley gone, will Jay teach these talented runners enough for them to improve up to expectations, given his inexperience as a RB coach?
Predictions are high because I think he will do a formidable job.

He's a Harbaugh, I'm betting Jim's sister could probably out coach us, so Jay will do all right :D.

Dang, if only we had Michael Cox on the roster.......

"McDoom in jets."
Honestly they need to figure out another way to use him. At the beginning of last year it was very effective. By the end of the year it was too predictable. "McDoom's in the game? Jet sweep!"
