The coyotes are straight up setting picks at this point.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:35 AM ^
slashing is legal now as long as you do it to someone's face.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:40 AM ^

April 15th, 2010 at 12:41 AM ^
my hate for coyotes is now in full effect.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:41 AM ^
Let's see Phoenix win a game when they've got like 6 people in the box (which will happen if they pull that shit at Joe Louis).
April 15th, 2010 at 12:41 AM ^
Win game 2, and we've still got a split.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:44 AM ^
true, but it basically makes game 2 a must win for the wings.
coming back from down 2-0 is not an easy task, especially with wings teams that tend to do better at the start of series than at the end.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:42 AM ^
Well crap.
Crap ice, crap officiating, crap fans and, most importantly, a crap PK from Detroit.
Crap, crap, crap.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:43 AM ^
It's the Camp Randall game all over again...
Bogus calls followed up by a poor PK that leads to goals. Even the same score!
April 15th, 2010 at 12:44 AM ^
We won't make it very far like this.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:48 AM ^
howard made some nice saves when even strength but the pk needs to be fixed. im gonna blame jet lag on this on though.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:49 AM ^
Shane Doan was unbelievable. He seemed like he was everywhere, delivering the hits and the energy.
Howard looked shaky, especially on that third goal.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:52 AM ^
If the yotes keep playing that way and the Wings don't adjust, this series will be over quick, and I'll be seriously pissed heading into summer.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:56 AM ^
What amazed me was the Yotes on the power play. Yotes are not good on the power play, at all. If detroit doesn't work on that diamond, this series could be over next Tuesday.
They played unusually well, and the Wings played unusually poorly. The neutral zone and defensive end turnovers, as well as the PK, were atrocious. I don't see that continuing to happen. That's why they play 7 games.
That was a physical ass beating the likes of which I don't think I have ever seen. Detroit got completely bitched in the body check department and then played "don't hurt me" hockey for the last 30 minutes. 20-10 were the shots on goal in the third period. A perfect example of a team winning because they wanted it more. If Game 2 goes like this, Babcock needs to put Abdelkader in the lineup to shake things up.
and even I couldn't stand the way the Wings lacked physicality tonight. Usually they give back at least 2/3 of what they get, but tonight they just got beat up and down the rink.
is a perfect example of why single elimination hockey tournaments don't work.
I blame the OP.
At least the Sharks and Penguins lost tonight. Amirite?
The biggest thing about this game that should concern Red Wings fans is that it appears that Phoenix has the two things that have traditionally given the Red Wings fits in their prior early round exits: (1) goaltending and (2) outstanding speed. I was honestly shocked at how much faster Phoenix was than Detroit was.
