OT Game of Thrones S7E1: Dragonstone
How many weeks until Arya kills Ed Sheeran?
How about Ed Sheeran guesting on GOT? Of course he was singing.
EDIT: I looked it up and apparently Maisie Williams is a huge fan and the producers have been trying for a couple years to get Ed on the show.
You do realize that GOT has been doing this since the first season? The entire Coldplay band has been on the show as well as several obscure (at least to me) bands and singers from the UK. This is not a new gimmick for them.
It's a total gimmick and I had no problem with all of the other cameos for the simple fact that they were all in the background and weren't given songs to sing, and dialogue, and cheesy ass closeups. If they would have done that with Sheeren, I wouldn't have had a problem as it wouldn't have affected the scene at all. Hearing his shitty voice and seeing that ultra cheesy closeup of his troll face, completely took me out of the moment, and struck me as a total lame gimmick. Sorry, but that is some shit they do on way lesser shows.
I know there was another band that was cast as Wildlings in one of the earlier seasons. I couldn't pick them out of a lineup anyway, especially bundled up in wildling clothes. That was a fun fact. I never noticed them during the airing and made for a fun easter egg after the fact. (Googled: The band is Mastadon in S5-E8)
Meanwhile, I was totally distracted by Sheeran. I did a double-take, looked at my wife who looked perplexed. I had to pause the show and ask her, "Is that Ed Sheeran?" She confirmed, then we rewound and started the scene again trying to pretend one of the anonymous soldiers wasn't a pop star.
It was completely distracting and I agree. I hope that's the last time they do something like that.
the completely opposite hand, I know that Ed Sheeran is a musician but I have no idea what he looked like and did not know he was in the scene. Watching it that way, it was a pretty good and enjoyable scene. If it had been somebody I recognized, it likely would have been just as distracting.
me too. Other than the song he sang on the show, which I cant recall he name of, I couldnt tell you what else he's done..
pop music and whatever the darn kids are into these days. Had no idea he was anyone.
The scene did seem a little contrived though, overall, so I'm not totally surprised to hear the background of them wanting to "surprise" Maisie with the cameo. Weird gag though.
Arya is growing up to be quite attractive...
sister is growing up to be....... something more than that.
He's fun. When giving last rights he stops half way through and says, "Fuck it I don't remember the rest. Sorry you died."
You're right. That's the guy he robbed when Arya was so pissed at him for doing it. He was asked by Thoros if he knew them and said, "Not really." Likely why he felt he had to bury them. I do hope he doesn't grow much of a conscience though, he's much more fun in that middle ground between savagery and his warped moral code.
Ive read the entire book series twice but refuse to pay for HBO(I watch John Oliver clips on youtube and that would be half the reason for HBO), but what the hell has happened to Jaime Lannister since season 5? I remember he got his hand cut off, and then became a good guy, rejecting Cersei, caring about what is right and wrong and all that. But any other new-ish developments? I try not to talk about the show as I am still so excited about the next book, but it's been over 5 years since the last book now and I can't last any longer. This is literally the first time I've read these comment sections(The ones about GoT) or talked to anyone about the new GoT seasons.
Their daughter, who was the most innocent of the 3 (IMHO) likely drove him back to Cersei.
I guess I remember that happening or close to happening, it's been awhile since I read the books. And he is back to defending and hooking up with Cersei?
died on her way back to Kings Landing from Dorne after being poisoned by the sand snakes. He took it hard, no question, but I don't think they have "hooked up" since their casket-side encounter after the Purple Wedding, at least on screen.
And I don't really think he is defending her right now, I just think he is trying not get wild-fired by her. He more or less doesn't have anywhere to go, only has one hand, and cannot inherit anything from his family. Jamie is just more or less figuring out what the hell to do with himself at this point.
Cersei is getting crazier and crazier and he's still with her but questioning her deeply / teetering on a defection. Wouldn't be surprised if he joins Tyrion at some point.
BOOK SPOILER ALERT: Jaime's path has been fairly different than the books (i.e. he went to Dorne to rescue Myrcella and watched her die which obviously never happened in the books), and in the show he didn't become estranged from her the way he did in the books after her numerous affairs (which also didn't happen in the show, except with the Lannister cousin).
Agree, I think that in order for them to get where they need to go plotwise they have to get him to defect as the distance he built up from his sister in the books is pretty significant.
More or less. Knocked him out and robbed him. He said they weren't going to last the winter anyway, so he might as well take their money.
The Omar Little of GOT.
so Euron's gift to Cersei? I am guessing it is going to be the return of Gendry.
there is a magic horn that when you blow it, it can defeat dragons. It's thought that he has acquired it while galivanting around the world.
don't think it is that. The show has used some material from the book and discarded other stuff, but they don't hide crucial elements from the book only to break them out as an unearned "surprise" when the story needs it. At least they haven't yet and it would surprise me if they did now. As for the gift, for the reasons I state above, I am worried about our beloved Arya.
How do you promise a gift of something that you have no clue about? Euron's been on a boat. How does he know where Arya is, or if she's even still alive?
Additionally, he's offering this gift as an enticement to marriage. One little Stark brat does nothing for Cersei's plans to be Queen of the World. I think it's far more likely that the book gift is what he means and Euron zigs when everyone expects him to zag. I'd say more, but don't feel like spoiling things.
act as though there are not unexplainable occurences on Game of Thrones, like, all of the time. The show has not maintained a plausible time line or geography since season 1. Littlefinger can show up anywhere at any time like he travels in a time machine.
Euron was meeting with Cercei at about the same time that Arya literally told a half dozen Lannister soldiers that she was going to Kings Landing to "kill the queen." (And those soldiers were all ready responding to a disturbance at the twins where the only witness was told that "the North Remembers.)" I think it is more plausible than you think it is.
And the spoiler that you are talking about was discussed pretty early in the books. I don't know what value there would have been in it never being discussed in the show if it was going to be a huge plot point later.
watch out Lady Olenna.
to the Frey girls, and there was no question who she was. So word will probably spread fairly quickly that Arya is back in Westeros.
We got a glimpse of (what I'm 99 percent sure was) Nymeria showing her teeth in the scenes from the next episode so the reunification is about to happen. This is probably the event I've been most anticipating since Grey Wind was cut down by the Frey's. I need more direwolf in my life. Face-changing Arya AND a pack of 100's of wolves led by Nymeria? Yes, please.
I don't think Euron's going that way for reason's I explained in my response to your post above though.
cant wait to see what that entails.. Regarding Euron, crazyier things have happened in the show and or books
I didn't realize he didn't have the horn at the kingsmoot, in the show. My memory confuses show and books sometimes. It does seem like if they intentionally did not bring out the horn then (it would have been easy enough to bring it out and explain it), that it won't be part of the show.
But who knows, maybe he still has it. The actor who plays him tweeted this last year: ‘Guys! First of all, this is a fictional character. I am here as an actor to interpret. Yeah, he doesn't have an eye patch. Yeah, he doesn't have the Dragonbinder ... or does he?’”
Although my guess is he doesn't have the horn and he's just trying to keep us guessing with that tweet.
Mountain can blow it????
I assumed it was the opportunity to kill her brother
i was thinking it was tyrion's head
I'm not sure what Jaime would do. Jaime even told Bronn a season or two back that if he ever saw Tyrion again he would kill him after Tyiron killed their father.
I do still hold to the belief, though, that as Daenerys begins to sack King's Landing, Jaime will be forced to either kill Cersei or watch as she destroys the city with the remaining wildfire. She's made it clear she doesn't give a rat's ass about the people who live within the city or how many lives she ends.
The city's ablaze, the town's on fire
The woman's flames are reaching higher
We were fools, we called her liar
All I hear is "Burn"
I believe it is and I am quoting Yara here, "His big cock."
Eurons going to find a way to snag Tyrion and deliver him to Cersei. Jaime is going to have to choose between siblings and ultimately take out his sister just like the Mad King.
Not sure what value Gendry really is to Cersei. I mean sure, he's the last of Robert's bastards so he would have a claim to the throne, but I assume he's been kind of drifting alone for the past 4 seasons.
No one is really looking for him, no armies fight for him (that we know of), so while I'm sure Cersei would be happy to execute him because its one less person to worry about, she doesn't get much in return for it.
My guess is either Arya, who appears to be getting a little reckless/arrogant with her escapades, or Tyrion. Arya would be valuable to gain leverage on Jon/Sansa, but Cersei has much more immediate threats than those two. Jon is much more pre-occupied with the White Walkers than he is with dealing with Cersei.
Tyrion would be infinitely more valuable to Cersei. Not only would she get to personally torture/execute the man she has despised her entire life, but it would cripple Daenerys, who is easily her biggest threat. Cersei would be so blinded by her hatred of Tyrion she would take Euron in without question on that one.
is totally meaningless at this point (really has been ever since Robert dethroned the Mad King). It's all about winning now (or more importantly, surviving the winter for the humans that actually figure out that's the bigger danger).
Tell them "The North remembers." Tell them "Winter came for House Frey."
That was SO FUCKING BADASS! Great beginning.
And poor Sam, stuck in Groundhog Day hell. But he decided to make a change. Good on him.
And how about the Hound getting a vision.
