Michigan Tops Big Ten in Football Revenue

Submitted by UMgradMSUdad on

An article on PennLive using figures from the US Department of Education ranks the Big Ten football programs from 7-1-15 to 6-30-16 based on how much money they brought in (not including broadcast payouts).  In no surprise, Michigan comes in first with revenue of $97.1 million and $60.6 million after expenses.

You're welcome, bitches.

It was worth having my parents take out a second mortgage so they could buy me expensive socks because WE'RE NUMBER ONE!

I'm a guest here, I get it.  I wasn't trying to "shit talk."

Just a comment to RGard --- I don't think there's a single member of the "Nittany Faithful" (or any other school) who would be "infuriated" by Michigan generating the most revenue among B1G schools.  That's been a thing for 50+ years now (U-M or OSU always being #1 in that metric).  And unlikely to change in the future.

I won't derail things, so I'm out of this thread from here forward.

The Nittany Faithful think Penn Live is a Penn State Football blog.  Anybody saying something remotely good about another school there is found infuriating by the Nittany Faithful.

You kinda were talking shit.

Which is fine when you're winning. But not so much after last year's massacre. We're still finding bodies laying around the stadium.

And you do realize that nobody really cares about that B1G *championship* you *won* ?

It kind of sucks for them to be looking up at Rutgers and Maryland.  (Although at least the Boilermakers are in the black - with a $1.8M profit.  The Terps and Rutgers seemingly can't claim that.)

Also, ipecac sales will plummet when people see how much Penn State football is still making, notwithstanding the compelling evidence that JoePa and the PSU administration aided and abetted decades of child rape.

Where are we getting an extra $11 million over Ohio State who has a similar seating capacity as us and sells in-stadium advertising?

Are they counting things like the EPL / La Liga soccer games in Michigan Stadium?
