OT: Favorite Football Movie
This is really out of boredom but what the heck. There have been quite a few good football movies out there. Go ahead and rank your top 3.
1) The Program (only because Michigan beats ECU)
2) Remember the Titans (has a great message)
3) Rudy (hate ND but great movie)
I love that movie.
Also like The Program and Remember the Titans.
The Replacements is alright.
I hate Rudy, that punk was offsides.
Any Given Sunday is terrific; esp. Al Pacino's locker room speech.
we're in hell."
Pretty much sums it up for me.
blows.
Awesome to me because it reminds me of my high school experiences.
Remember the Titans
"I don't..... want your life"-Moxon in southern accent
"Ms. Davis will you go to the prom with me"-Billy Bob
I give it a 10!!!!!!! a fucking 10 lol
love that damn movie
Police Officer: Congratulations.
Tweeder: Congratulations to you, too.
Police Officer: Congratulations for what?
Tweeder: For getting to wear such cute "mountme" hats.
Police Officer: Mount me?
Tweeder: Not right away. After a few drinks...
James VanDerBEEEEEEK is so HOT!!!
was pretty good, though it may not contain enough football to qualify as a "football movie".
We watched it last night--I was really surprised to see all the coaches in it.
there were, what, six SEC coaches in it, and none of them are still actively coaching at the school they represented in the movie. Talk about turnover. Example: Nick Saban's in the film, representing LSU.
Remember the Titans. Easy.
My youngest daughter reminds me of the little girl hayden panettiere played because she screams at the T.V. as much as I do.
Little Giants.
The part where the dickhead QB calls Faizon love a Son of a bitch lol Faizon is like son of a bitch son of a bitch and than shoots out the Porsche's windows lol awesome
Really?
because he clearly missed his period.
G-IANTS! GI-ANTS! HELP US GOD!
The annexation of Puerto Rico. Greatest play call ever.
1) Remember the Titans
2) Little Giants
I have no idea its a good flick or not; I can't watch more than a minute or two without feeling nauseous and needing to change the channel.
Haven't even seen a minute of it. Can't. Won't.
can't ever get too much Ufer.
Goldie Hawn as the Coach! Just kidding.
Friday Night Lights.
I just reached 20 points, and it was fun while it lasted, but I feel I have to stick with my convictions, so here it goes...
RUDY WAS AN AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL MOVIE. EOM.
Not my favorite, but I'll throw "Necessary Roughness" out there. Sinbad is very believable as a D-Lineman. Kathy Ireland (before that bizarre Oscar red carpet shouting) was hot as a kicker.
But Kathy Ireland looked terrible as a kicker. Not terrible. She looked good. Let's say not very believable kicking motion.
Rob Schnieder also deserves mention as a great announcer: "Edison is brought down at the Jayhawk 27. Although he did hydroplane down to the 19."
I was thinking of throwing Necessary Roughness out there as my favorite, in fact. Just cause it's pretty funny. There's a bunch I haven't seen, but there's still not a lot IMO that's really worthy of elite status. Remember the Titans is pretty good, and probably qualifies as my actual favorite, but the little girl practically ruins the whole flick.
5)Rudy
4)The Program
3)The Little Giants
2)Remember The Titans
1)Any Given Sunday
The speech in AGS combined with how badly that movie makes me want to strap on the pads beats out the feel good Remember The Titans. Little Giants came out when I was younger so I always like that. The Program is a great depiction of the game and Rudy is still a classic.
Little Giants. I liked it growing up. All the others listed above are good movies as well, for the most part.
Friday Night Lights was great, but if this fits in your definition of "football movie" then Jerry Maguire is where it's at
What would the mention of Brian's Song get me?

The speech at the end in front of the memorial to the 1971 team was legendary. One of the best in any football movie, ever.
X-Box generation has taken over.
Best football movie ever was North Dallas Forty.
Oh, unless you live to see that 22 second clip of a Michigan helmet in The Program. LOLZ
The original "The Longest Yard" has got to be one of the best football movies of all time. I put it in my top 3 with "Remember the Titans" and "Varsity Blues"
+1 for your avatar, it's fantastic
"inconthievable"
"I think I broke his freakin' neck." (TV version)

How it took #39 posts to get to The Longest Yard is beyond me. (Everyone just remember the bastard remake?).
And I'll add my personal fav's after that true greatness-
Little Giants - "That's no cheerleader, that's my niece Becky. She's pissed."
The Replacements - "He's wiry".
Even Bo AND Halle Berry couldn't save The Program...
If they could make a football movie as good as Slap Shot (the best sports movie ever), I would say that movie...
North Dallas Forty?
"Patton" (hat tip to Ufer, Bob)
