Seriously. Players are taught to get off the field as fast as possible in a rush the field type situation. It's dangerous for them when thousands of fans rush in and who knows about the crazy ones. Nothing to see here

That's the point the pissy Iowa people are all missing . . . there were 30,000 more fans just yards away, rushing the middle of the field in seconds.  The players are just hurrying to get the hell out of there.

This is what it looked like just seconds later:

You mean to tell me he shouldn't get the hell out of there in a straight line as fast as possible?

I was on the field when a Miami of Ohio player/coach dropped a guy on the turf at Marshall around 2002 (Big Ben's last year). It was like the running of the bulls. It was exciting, but you're taking a risk.

Watched it a few times and his feet were off the ground when he collided with her.  Looks like she wasn't paying attention and Wormley was trying to dodge her.  Wormley immediatley sidesteps the next fan in front of him as he runs off the field. Likely not intentional.

Also, I like that the Iowa fans are taking the high ground here on twitter lol.  The few times Speight ran the ball, there was an Iowa fan behind me screaming to "hurt him real good!"  Most people I met at the game were decent and pleasant, there were a couple nutjobs like you would expect anywhere you go to a football game.  It appears that some of the nutjobs have taken to twitter to make this out to be a bigger deal than it really is.

Do it if you want - it's a great part of college football - but don't whine about it if something goes south when you do it.

Especially don't blame the other team's players if something happens when you choose to do it.

Like these people that drive 100 mph on a country road, then sue the tire company when they crash.

You made the choice.  If you want to have choices, then live with the choices you make and don't whine and blame when something goes wrong.

Wormley hits him. Selective editing?

I know a few people has said it's a lady but I think a hat fell off. I certainly can't tell if it's a man or a lady. I'd like to see what others are looking at that they think it's so definitive. Regardless, old enough to know better than to rush the field.

People are idiots.  They like to run up to the opposing players and slap them on the shoulder pads and maybe say something snarky.  Like a little Running of the Bulls challenge.

We used to do it ourselves in Michigan Stadium before they lowered the field.

I saw a Michigan fan run up and snatch John Cooper's hat right off his head when we shut them out in '93.  Yeah, it was cool from a fan's perspective, but if he would have gotten clocked by an OSU player or coach or Stadium Security, I would not have felt sorry for him at all.

You took the chance to be a cool guy, now man up and face the consequences.

Why do people keep making choices and then whining and blaming about the choices they make?

This is why people in authority keep trying to take away all our choices.

Seems to be a lot of judgement being passed on Wormley on the twitter thread. The video doesn't show what happened to cause the collision, maybe that person came flying out of no-where. Rushing the field is often chaotic
